Great Synagogue
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Went there last month, they conduct tours on a Thursday....but I was not happy paying a 10 dollar fee..........tour was about the history of the Synangogue.
Was ok ....but paying a fee was not a happy thing.

The Great Synagogue has an amazing cieling which looks like the heavens at night with golden starts set against a blue colured cieling. It was some years ago that I visited but it was a memorable experience

for obvious reasons, you usually cannot walk into this great place of worship and "have a look around". However, i have been on organised tour [which in itself was good because of the knowledge and pride of the guide in the synagogue] but most amazing of all is its interior - especially the ceiling - will say no more - a must see

The Building itself is one of the nicest Synagogue I've been in and is considered to be the most beautiful Synagogue in Australia and one of the finest in the world. It is built in a variety of architectural styles, the combination of which is of stunning beauty and sophistication. In the Basement you will find a small museum of Jewish Religious equipment from Birth to death it was indeed a delightful tour and highly recommended
Don’t forget to call in to find the time its open to the public
