“Terrible Experience”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

I used these guys to book a joint paintball / go-karting package for my bros bucks party. In the lead up to it I had to chase them over and overs, sending unanswered emails and having calls not responded to. The organisation was a disaster. Not surprisingly when it came time to do the go-karting they had stuffed up and booked the wrong time. We were unable to do the time they had, and it cost us $1000 in deposit as the gokart place flat out refused to refund us. Both companies are a disgrace and I would avoid them at all costs. There are tonnes of other similar companies out there.

“Not the worst, but nowhere near the best”
Reviewed August 24, 2008

Adventure Quest's biggest problem is due to 2 rules they have in place. They are:

1. You may not approach within 5 meters of another opposing player.
2. Being shot on your marker does not count as an out.

Most other fields, if you get close to an opponent without them seeing you, you can yell "surrender" and they are forced to concede or get shot pointblank. By having the 5 meter rule in place, it creates situations where players face off against one another 5 meters away and just stick their marker over the top of their bunker and start firing away. Because getting hit on the marker doesn't count as an out, it's a huge waste of paint - and guess what? Adventure Quest doesn't supply vests or pods to carry your paintballs around in. They keep it all off to the side in little plastic bags that get carried around in a wheelbarrow. If you're an aggressive player, you're going to find yourself out in the field, out of paint, A LOT.

The other problem is that most of their fields are way too big if you're going with a smallish group. On some fields, cover was quite sparse and their standard issue markers were unable to shoot the distance between bunkers. (And because of the 5 meter rule, you're unable to try and run up and flank an opponent.) Couple this with old masks and goggles that were horribly scratched up, and the day turned out to be a joke. This is not the worst paintball field I've ever been to. Some of their fields are quite decent, but you're better off going somewhere else seeing as there are so many other great paintball fields around. It's a shame really, if they just got rid of the 2 aforementioned rules, given the size of their playing fields, Adventure Quest would become a rather exciting place to play.

We have operated paintball fields for 18 years and continually change our format to suit both trends and player budgets. Experience and feedback have indicated the following
1. Not everyone wants to shoot a lot of paint ie. low budget
2. Pods and harnesses are available for the big shooters
3. Most players do not like being shot closer than 5 meters
4. Game rules differ with different scenarios ie. gun tagging
5. Large field size is an advantage and rare in Sydney
6. We do not mix pro players with casuals. very unfair play
7. Hire equipment will always show signs of wear, all safety standard are met and equipment is replaced when required.
Players also have the opportunity to purchase new googles for as little as AU$30ea
