Went to a movie here feb 14th the setting is magical, at Pott’s point (I think) one bay round from the opera house, the screen is actually in the harbour with the opera house harbour bridge and city skyline in the background, it’s honestly magical ! The whole area is entrance by movie ticket only and there’s food and drinks available. The food was ok without being great and drinks were good but it’s the outdoor movie tour here to experience and that was fantastic is such a special location
The only thing that I found wasn’t great was the seats, while they were padded and comfortable I found them too upright and close to the next row to be comfortable for the entire movie, but then again not too different from any other theatre and the location more than made up for it

Recommend as something different and a really pleasant way to see a movie while still experiencing “being in Sydney”. Very well organized with so many people; great volume and seating views. Even had complimentary rain capes for the light drizzle. So nice to see Sydney in the background too. Would go again.

The venue is well organised to deal with the very large numbers attending although there was some negotiating with others to get a space to sit and eat the crowd were relaxed and welcoming. The vista across Sydney Harbour at dusk is wonderful. A truely spectacular setting and one not to be missed if in Sydney at the right time.

No matter the movie, this is a thrilling site to visit and enjoy the outdoor cinema experience. Queuing to bag your unallocated seat, starts early, so if you are in a group, suggest nominating one member of the party to run and stick your labels on your preferred seats. Staff were all polite and helpful, food choices were good for an event like this (and can be ordered for collection with an app), loos were clean and at the entrance (easy to find), the bar worked well with a limited choice but that’s often a good thing! Water was free. A deposit scheme ($2 a glass) operated this year, and staff clearing tables could help with giving you back your cash when they took your glass - what a winning idea, so you didn’t clog up the bar waiting for your money. Very well organised, impressively so. Terrific views of course, of the harbour at sunset, but whatever the weather, we were given rain ponchos to put on, as well as small paper hand fans should we have a heatwave! The ice cream cart didn’t sell out on this particular evening, but undoubtedly on most other hot evenings, a welcome sight. Hugely impressed and would highly recommend a trip. Not really easy/suitable for disabled/wheelchair access unfortunately, as is so much of Sydney, hills and stairs to navigate without realistic alternative options. A thoroughly entertaining evening. Parking at The Domain, although it’s a 15 min walk, is recommended as the evening rate is cheapest ($14) locally from 5pm. On street parking nearby is available (and you could drop people off) but it’s expensive on an hourly rate plus mayhem when everyone is leaving, hard to find your Taxi or Uber unless pre arranged and locked in.

We went there with friends/family for a meal and an open air movie. Arguably your choice of movie may have an effect on your total experience, for us it was perfect. Sunset with a view of the Harbour bridge and the Opera House in the back, a nice meal. drinks, followed by a good movie with next to the screen the Sydney skyline. Spectacular!
