Town Hall is viewed by many Sydneysiders as merely a convenient meeting point. Especially in early evening there is often a multitude of people on the steps in front of this lovely building waiting to meet friends or some significant other.
The lovely aspect of this is that it is such an easily recognisable building, has a train station practically underneath that has connects to most every train line in the city and is across the road from the Queen Victoria Building.
Strangely enough many of the people who are at Town Hall every day will rarely even look at the building. Or ever enter it. For the international tourist there is little special to see here, it is just a nice building that is old by Australian standards. But it is pleasant and as mentioned, is a very centrally located spot.
