Not having been to Watson's Bay for a number of years we thought we would spend a day walking around the place, going for coffee and something to eat. Oh dear! Firstly do yourself a favour and take the ferry as there is NO parking. The walk around the Gap and in the park was wonderful, so on to the pub for coffee and something to eat. Overpriced, had to wait a very long time for service and food. Food very ordinary and the pub was sterile with dreadful furnishings. Unfortunately we could have gone to the tea house where it looked beautiful but full. So next time we will take a picnic. We will still go back but only for the walk around the Gap.

Watson's Bay is beautiful and well worth the trip. Take a short walk via the road to Laings Point Reserve, only a 5 minute walk but has a great view back over sydney skyline.

Avoid Doyles "World Famous" fish and chips. I can't comment on the fish as I only had chips but they are frozen reconstituted chips! How is it every chippy in the UK can make real chips from potatoes yet Doyles have to serve up the frozen variety?!

The last ferry back is at 4:30pm. HOWEVER what they don't advertise is that Sydney public ferries stop at 3pm! We got stung and had to pay $9 each for a private ferry back to Circular Quay despite the fact that we had a 7 day multipass for public transport which we had paid $44 for.

Took the ferry to Watsons Bay and a beaufiul trip it was going past all the the beautiful homes along the way. We took the walk up to the gap which is well and truly worth it and the Teahouse is a beautiful place to stop for a cuppa. We had lunch at the pub, which was lovely. A little overpriced but it was Good Friday so we expected that.
