“Beer on the beach”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Watsons Bay is so much more than just Doyles Seafood Restaurant. We enjoyed an ice cold beer on a very hot day, sitting on a patio overlooking the small beach. Families were swimming, people had picnic rugs spread under the trees in a lovely park and joggers sweated their way past us. It is a great place to kick back and relax and watch the yachts and water craft go by.

“lunch on the beach”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

Think Sydney and you think Harbour Bridge, in fact harbour and beach! Well Doyles at Watsons Bay has the view in spades. A quick hop off the pathway and I could paddle in the surf! And be back at my table for our first course. Our food was predictably fish which can often be a letdown if not prepared correctly. No fear of that here our chowder was delicious and my second course of Queensland Mud Crab fantastic if a bit daunting size wise! Our waiter was attentive and friendly and best of all we were given the time to enjoy the food and the view! The ferry ride over and back was part of the highly enjoyable afternoon

“Swim, Doyles Fish & Chips, and a little haven of peace.”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

My favourite spot in Sydney so far. I enjoyed the peace of Watsons Bay. Beautifaul views down the harbour, swim in the netted area next to the Yacht Club (with a couple of Sydney to Hobart veterans at anchor), great fish and chips from the famous Doyles, and space to stroll around over to the Gap and South Head. A relaxing day out. There are changing rooms with showers across from the swimming area. If I lived in Sydney, and had the millions, this is where I would live.

“A few extra steps .....”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

Watsons Bay, especially at the weekend, is popular! However, if you walk a little furher you will discover Camps Bay (cove?) which is a fantastic little beach with safe swimming, clean sand, amenities, entry to a beautiful coastal walk and views to die for. Don't get waylayed by fish and chips at Watsons Bay .... keep walking and get to Camps Bay (mind you get some fish and chips on the way back as they are incredibly good ......)
