This is a strange place, by Sydney beach standards. The locals love it, but I call it the concrete beach, as it is surrounded, you guessed it, by concrete on both long sides. I do not know what the lifeguards do there, as it is enclosed. I know it is a great place to learn to swim and the snorkelling is suposed to be good, but I just don't get the attraction! Go to anywhere else, especially the northern beaches, if you want a real Sydney beach experience. Food at the cafe (at the end of the concrete!) is ok. Best thing is there are no timed parking fees.
