The only reason to visit Martin Place in its own right is for the large Channel 7 Television Centre located near the train station from where the daily breakfast program 'Sunrise' is broadcast. The studio has been reconfigured so that it is almost impossible to see into the studio and the presenters but some time between 8.50 and 9am the presenters come out to Martin Place to film the final segments of the day. You can stand behind them and wave - a cheesy but fun experience. The presenters usually stay around to pose for photos and sign autographs which is also a nice experience.

I work nearby.. So as a habit I always visit martin place. Everything there's something happening.. One days there were koalas and other Aussi wild life exhibition.. One day there were free burgers.. Last time I managed to see the famous navy parade..! It's always gives me a worthwhile lunch break.

Beautiful shops and we were able to watch the Sunrise show being telecast and had our 5 minutes of fame on the show (in the background) and Kochie, Mel and Nat made an appearance out in Martin Place where we able to have chat with them and they signed autographs for us. A must is to enjoy a coffee and cake at the Lindt cafe whilst in Martin Place.

There's a lot of interesting events that do happen here with dree concerts and of course the Cenotaph is a centre of the sombre cermonies of ANZAC day and Remembrance day. I merely say that Martin place is not my first pic as a "must see" whle in Sydney. It is a pleasant mall and if you are walking through the city it is worth strolling along it for several blocks, preferably starting from the Macquarie St end.

Martin Place is our only public plaza, it has the space and it has attributes like the collonades along the G.P.O. What they have done with it is produce a disjointed space with a deathly grey pallor. Nothing like a European, lively plaza. Visitors should respect the Cenotaph on the George St end - it means a lot to the locals.
