Good hotel and great location and was lucky to get a room at the back of the hotel on a quiet lane.
Clean and comfortable and doesn't have the modular bathroom that some Formule 1 hotels have which for a bigger person are a pain, this one was a good size basic bathroom.
Would stay again because of the location, easy to get to town and Kings Cross.

The stay was good.
I booked about 6 weeks ahead and paid for breakfast with the booking.
I forgot to bring a print out of my booking but in the morning when I wanted breakfast I had to pay for it again.

I have stayed at this hotel for the third time because is well located.
I think the hotel building is good (it doesnt seem old ata ll) the rooms are well designed, they've got TV, aircon, bathroom and the towels and linen are clean.
the big problem with this hotel is the lack of good managment, other\wise it would be a fantastic place to stay.
the cleanliness standard is poor, it seems as if the carpet has not been vacuumed for ages and the bathroom is got mould every where.
on the top, there is a weird smell as if the carpet was really wet and did not dry well.
all these facts are result of the lack of good management, the hotel has potential and actually is visited for families with children.
too many things to improveb (actually just change the managment) but still good value for money and good location.

Good location, close to bars and nice clubs in Sydney, although not the closest hotel to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. The room I stayed were not in good conditions, the light under TV wasn't working, there was also a bad smell and the toilet is very cramped. The blankets were very old and stinky too. I also stayed in the Ibis Budget located in Melbourne city center and it was much better.

The location of this place is a big plus - as it is just a short walk to Kings Cross station and to Hyde Park. You can even walk to Chinatown/ Town hall (for the malls).

The place is more like backpacker place but comes with ensuite, which is a big plus too. I got a room for just under $100 for 4 pax. Though it was a little packed (queen + bunk), it works out to be cheaper than most hostels.

The only downside is you have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs if you come by William Street, which is more commonly used than the other entrance.

The location is great - so close to all the cafes of Darlinghurst for breakfast, and the nightclubs of the Cross for the evening. But that's really all this place has going for it. The room itself has a TV, an air conditioner and several beds. No fridge, expensive wifi, not even a glass so you can have a drink of water.
Forget their breakfast - the cafes down the road are cheaper with better food and nicer coffee.
The beds were comfortable, and I appreciated the air conditioning.
If all you're after is a room to stay after a night in the Cross, then it's fine. Otherwise there are other options for the same price.

We stayed at Formule 1 east for three nights as a family.
Experience was awful.
Room was medium sized. Beds were ok.
Room, bath, corridors, whole hotel very dirty. Urine smell in corridors. Stains on carpet, blanket and everywhere. Toilet flush broken and constant noise overnight during stay. Street noise made sleep difficult.
Staff was friendly and did what they could, but could not compensate for the desatrous state of the building and interior.
The location is fairly good, but I would not recommend to go there again. And for sure never again with kids.
