“Modern, spacious and a great location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2012

Meriton Pitt street is a great choice if you are considering a short or long term stay in the heart of Sydney. First up, the location is perfect for shopping as you are in the heart of the Pitt Street mall area. The bridge and Opera house are about a 15- 20 minute walk too. In regards to options for food and drink- you have plenty to choose from around here!

As for the property itself- I stayed for a week on business in a one bedroom appartment. It is very spacious, modern and clean. The kitchen has everything you need, the shower is bigger then the standard and the bed it also a big, king size. The TV is 'old school' but you can make do and they also have a DVD player. They have a swimming pool and a gym too. Fair enough the gym is tiny and they barely have anything for weight training but there are a couple of machines for cardio you can make use of.

No issues with service, staff are friendly and helpful and your room gets cleaned on a daily basis.

I would definatley stay here again and would recommend for any couples, friends or business trips!

We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment at this Meriton for 6 days over the Christmas holidays. We moved after two nights as the first apartment had a broken dishwasher and air conditioning. The second room was bigger and on a higher floor. I guess all the rooms have a quirky airconditioning system...you have to turn it back on after 4 hours. This is a pain in the middle of the night. A better arrangement would be to have a card-key controlled system where you need to be in the room to have air conditioning turned on. We had everything we needed for cooking and the in-room laundry was super. The location was awesome. Be sure to buy a multi-day pass for the bus, ferry and train which are all easy to use from this location. We got off the Citylink train from the airport at the Town Hall station which is 1/2 block from the hotel. From this location, you are a short walk from Darling Harbour, Hyde Park, Chinatown. Great shopping nearby. There is also a TI (tourist information) booth in front of the cathedral on George street. No need for a car here.

There was a Woolworth grocery within a block and a Red Bottle wine store a couple of blocks away. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a late flight out of Sydney and they let us store our bags after check out time. We had a busy last day in the city and then went back to the hotel and took a shower before leaving for the airport...Nice! There is WiFi in the building, at an extra charge of $5/hour which is added onto your bill. There is also a computer for guest use in the business center on the 14th floor, also at $5/hr.

We stayed at this Meriton for 4 days in January, 2012. We had a one bedroom apartment. It was roomy and well appointed. It had a full kitchen, a nice sized bedroom a comfortable living/dining room and en suite. While we did no real cooking, the kitchen had everything one would need if one was so inclined. The hotel is an easy 15 minute walk to the Circular Quay. It is convenient to public transportation and walking distance to most tourist destinations in Sydney.

The hotel is clean and quiet. There is a small gym, a pool and sauna. Parking is available. We did not use it so cannot comment on its cost or availability. The staff is friendly and helpful.

This is a wonderful facility for an extended stay in Sydney/

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view

We stayed here with anotherr couple. The hotel was easy to find if you followed your gps and parking directly under the apartment building (which is a real bonus in Sydney). Easy check in and a nice wow factor when we walked in the door of over 100sqm apartment. There were 2 large bedrooms with our own bathroom each. Each room had views over the city. Th views directly in front were blocked by the Citibank building but looking left you looked over glebe and to Birkenhead point and right you could see the harbour by potts point and also the iconic coke sign in kings cross. We also had a Birdseye view of the qvb and the town hall. The apartment was fitted out with all we needed. The sofas were great to lounge on. The balcony was also a big bonus.
Pitt street mall was only 2 blockers away. Oxford street walking distance and darling harbour a skip do the road.
Only draw back ( which is rather insignificant) is that you do have a constant hum of the air conditioning units from all the surrounding buildings, the traffic and the great sound of laughter outside the bars. But this is inner city. So what do you expect. But keep the doors shut, walk enough through the day and you won't even notice it.
Clean, large, well positioned, views, parking. What more do you want?

We stayed here in August 2011 for 4 weeks. Apartments were absolutely stunning 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, one en-suite, large lounge, kitchen, laundry room. Views down Pitt Street towards the Harbour Bridge or out looking over towards Hyde Park. The staff were extremely helpful. Apartments had a small gym and a reasonably sized pool, although cold was really nice after a hard day in Sydney. There was also hot tub, steam room and sauna.

Very central for all of Sydney attractions. Across road from Sydney Tower, near Darling Harbour, China Town and the main shopping areas. Close to train links, bus services and monorail.

Would recommend these apartments for long or short stay.

Excellent.

Obviously if you stay in Sydney you should not keep your car with you. Because the parking is costly. The unit was perfect and clean. When we entered into the apartment car parking it was almost full and the parking signs were not clear. Finally I got a parking and the receptionist informed me overnight stay is for $35 and that ticket was valid until next day 2 PM. I asked the receptionist to extend another 2 hours and she said that was fine. Remember I booked 5 two bedroom units and paid it. The next day when i checked out at 4PM the same receptionist asked me extra money for the 2 hours parking. After argument I paid it (just $15 extra) terrible. But other than that apartment stay was nice.
