Awestruck by the entire experience on the harbour. The lightings and music were stunning and such variations, I could never see enough though there were more than. Inside there was food, wine and dancing. Everyone was having a fabulous time.

“A Sydney must every year”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

This is an excellent innovation and increases the perception of Sydney as being one of the entertainment capitals of the world.
All along the foreshore of Sydney Harbour different lighting/laser events take place, with most of the activity at Circular Quay and the Opera House.
The Opera House domes are turned into a panoramic splash of colour changing constantly. The lighting effects are so good that the domes are turned into a giant screen with various scenes projected onto it. Typically if there are figures involved they look like they are climbing over and around the domes!
The P & O liner docked at Circular Quay and buildings in The Rocks have similar images projected onto them. Breathtaking.
Everywhere along the harbour foreshore there were different types of exhibits all with the vivid lighting/laser theme.
Another standout was the Customs House.
Parking is not easy and rather expensive so if you can come in with public transport it would be better. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants dotted around the area but you will have put up with inflated prices.
The next time Sydney puts on this Vivid show make sure you attend - fun for young and old!

“This is what Sydney is all about”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Sydney in lights, lots of lights and moving colour. Streets full of people taking part in an art installation. Because its Sydney its not too crowded and in a starry night Vivid is unforgettable and the Opera House is unforgettable.

“If you are in Sydney at the right time - do this.”
Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

No reason this won't be on in 2014. This is a magical time in Sydney and Vivid keeps getting better. We went halfway through and as soon as the lights turned on. Apparently the last weekend was mayhem. I only did the Walsh Bay to Opera House installations and didn't go to Darling Harbour or other places in the city.

Vivid does a great website and iPhone app and this should be used to plan your journey. We started in the Rocks and Walsh Bay and visited the 60 lighting installations all along the way. Ingenious stuff with interactive displays for the kids. I also get the ferry home and enjoyed the lighting of the Opera House each night.

Much of Vivid is free and Sydney gets such a buzz from this. If you live in Sydney come to the Quay. If you don't, visit. This is pretty unique.

“Good fun”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Really enjoyed "Vivid". We went twice this year. Firstly on a Saturday. We caught the train into the city, picked up a map from the Vivid kiosk and systematically went to see everything on the Circular Quay/Opera House side of the Harbour (i.e. eastern side of the Bridge). There was a P&O cruise ship in that evening and the pictures they screened onto the side of the ship were really great. We then went and found a really good little restaurant in the Rocks area and had a most excellent dinner there. We actually had a good view from the restaurant's little wooden patio of some other Vivid screenings on a wall in the laneway where the restaurant was situated. During the following week, after having dinner at home, we drove into the city and parked on the western side of the Harbour Bridge and - armed with our map - proceeded to systematically go and see all the "Vivid" attractions there at Walsh Bay, Darling Harbour, etc. We enjoyed them all very much. We also had noted the times - and went to see the fireworks and fountains in Darling Harbour, at the appropriate hour. They were fantastic. We had a coffee and sweets at a little vendor van. The whole thing was a fun way to see the city and to see the buildings, etc. lit up that way gave an entirely different look to the various icons/landmarks.
