Fortune of War is touted as the oldest pub in Sydney founded in 1878 at 137 George Street in the Rocks section of the Circle Quay of Sydney. It's conveniently located next to the Russell Hotel explaining how we found it. Young locals begin to fill the place throughout the afternoon and by 6PM it becomes very busy and conversations are easy to start. Decor is what one would expect of the oldest pub and the location is a 5 minute walk to the ferry docks make it convenient for commuters. .
