We went for Tapavino for lunch when we were in Sydney on holiday a few weeks ago. We chose it because we'd heard about its massive list of sherries, but the food was fantastic - probably the best traditional style tapas we've had outside Spain. Even though it was a Monday lunchtime, the place was buzzing. Liked the wine bottles lining the walls - gave quite a cool atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive, and we liked the fact you could order wine in different sized carafes - perfect for having a bit more than a glass, but less than a bottle.

We ordered four of the tapas/ raciones - the highlight was the mushroom and truffle tart with jamon serrano and manchego. However, the pea, mint, broad bean and goat curd bruschetta was also delicious. Four plates was plenty for lunch for two. From memory, I think the bill for food and a small carafe of wine came to about AU$70.

Definitely worth a visit, and so nice to find a place like this in the CBD.

From the time my cousin and I got to the restaurant.....so hungry, we had exceptional bend over backwards service from the staff at Tapavino.
Food was amazing and the place had a great vibe, I felt like I was in Spain.
This is my new favorite place....then go to the bulletin bar upstairs for drinks!
Our friends had an awesome night sharing food conversation and tasting the amazing sherry.
My personal fav was the dessert chocolate salted terrine with olive oil.
Excellent service well done!

This is a Sydney gem, one of the best tapas bars in town with terrific food, great wines and a view of the Harbour Bridge. Service was friendly, helpful and fast. All our chosen dishes were tasty and the inexpensive wine by the glass we selected was so good we had to ask, why pay more?

I went for the wine and came away with a very happy belly after DELICIOUS food. Cant wait to go back, cant believe its not open saturday night...??

I went to tapavino with a group of 10 people. Therefore we were restricted to set menu.
The restaurant is 2 levels, rather tight in space. But it had a nice dear. Due to tight space and fitting lots of tables as much as they can, it was very difficult to listen to each other.
The staff were friendly. Food came out at a reasonable time.
There were hit and misses with a few of the dishes.
A dish with bread and melted cheese in vine leaf was great, tasty.
This was followed by Jamon, fig and cheese. The Jamon that got served was a bit dry- as if its been out for awhile. This was followed by smoked salmon and bread, which was so salty that I only had a few mouthful. Potatoes on a pizza bread followed, and by this time we were staring o wonder why they would serve us with so much bread. The chicken in tomato tasted awful, beef ribs were a little better, but the sides were tough.
The desserts were toasted almond, ice cream in puff pastry- which want too bad, but the chocolate terrine had too much liquor and salt that i was trying to get mouthful of bits of where it wasn't soaked in alcohol nor salt.
The biggest surprise came with the bill, when they charged 8% surcharge for a group booking.

I definitely is agree with other people, that this is a great tapas restaurant. There are many others, better than this one.
One of our group of friends is a food critique and he agrees with me.

Perhaps go there and try a la carte. Avoid set menu.
