We ate here on our first night in Sydney. We hadn't conducted any research and just looked for a place to eat by strolling around and checking out menus. The menu for Searock read really well, but often in touristy places as the restaurants don't need to work too hard to get custom they are very often average. This place was a nice exception. The food was very good, but not exceptional (but then we weren't paying exceptional money). The service was very good. On top of that it was very stylish in a great location. We ate in better restaurants whilst in Sydney but we had researched those and they were a lot expensive; but, this was a really good start.

So much potential , service ok but the steak was tough that I could not finish it. ( worse than the local pub $10 effort and at 3 times the cost somewhat disappointing ). The view and soup almost saved the evening. Risotto was way too salty. We drank a liter of water in an hour to compensate. Desert was sadly lacking also. Just hope tonight's movie can make up for a lack lusture start to date night

My wife and I spent a delightful day in and around Circular Quay with a coffee cruise, a tour of the Opera House and several hours at the Searock Grill (the Amex charge shows the name Searock Fish Cafe) sipping wine and enjoying a fish lunch. While the fish and chips were not the best we have ever eaten, it was what we ordered and, to us, was good. However, we were not there for the food but came for the view and ambience. Food was secondary to our interests when we visited here.

We watched the ferries go in and out of their berths, watched couples and families scurry by on their way somewhere or anywhere. A cruise ship was tied up there as well and we reminisced about our own arrival in the Sydney Harbour just two weeks earlier on the Ocean Princess when we experienced a sunrise over the Opera House while standing on deck.

The tab for several hours here was A$106. Pricey for the food itself but cheap for the rental of chairs and table with a priceless view in Sydney Harbor!

This is in a fantastic spot, looking right at Circular Quay. Orders were wrong for our starters, which we corrected, they still brought us 1 main instead of 1 each, resulting in a rushed and half raw barramundi which wasn't so good. Food was OK, but nothing special and certainly not worth the price. Won't be back.
