Super good service, slick atmosphere, very city. The dumplings and noodles are great. But I think the pork buns are better elsewhere. Best to go here with group. It's a great place to share and experience lots from the huge menu. Not as cheap as other dumpling places but better service and quality product.

We enjoyed a very nice taiwanese dinner in the centre of Sydney in the middle of November last year. All our dishes were very nice, but a bit expensive in contrast to the setting and the service. You will have to write down on paper what you´re supposed to order and the service felt a bit rushed.

Lots of seatings inside as well as outside, but necessary as the place is very popular and recommended in Lonely Planet. Many guests at the time we visited, but we didn´t have to wait for table.

All in all it was a enjoyable dinner and my first time to try taiwanese. Recommended for dinner!

Although it was busy on a Sunday evening our group of 6 was able to get a table within 5 minutes. We went here on a Yelp recommendation and weren't disappointed. Sit down and fill out your menu choices. The efficient wait staff will verify everything and within a short time the plates start arriving. Interesting how they manage it - your ticket stays on the table and they cross things off as they bring them. A bit of entertainment while you wait - if you can see the kitchen it looks like a busy surgical suite with masked and covered workers moving in synchronization as they focus on food preparation. The wines were a bit of a disappointment but the food was excellent. The dumplings are good and the prawns & pineapple were exquisite. We also shared pepper steak and chili chicken dishes and all were fresh and tasty. The shared mango dessert is a bit of a spectacle but included perfectly ripe mango pieces floating in a sea of mango ice, topped by excellent mango sorbet. The total bill was actually quite reasonable - not cheap, but a good deal given the quality of the food.

The best thing about this place is you can order many different things in small quantities and its relatively good value for money, not the cheapest, but the best.

You have to try the signature pork dumplings, also recommend the shrimp and pork jiao ze. The wontons and noodles are also consistently good.

We visited Din Tai Fung twice whilst in Sydney. Having had a great meal in the Hong Kong Din Tai Fung we had high hopes and weren't disappointed. Again its a slick operation and the quality of the food was excellent.

Its slightly more expensive than than HK restaurant but thats to be expected. Highly recommended.
