We stayed just one Sunday night as I had to work in Sydney CBD the next day. Didn't use any services or bar/food options but went to the spa.
Pros>
Excellent city location, right next to Wynyard so great links to transport and within easy walking distance to Harbour, Circular Quay, Opera House and much more. Spa> pool, sauna, steam and spa where good mainly because it was quiet, we used the facilities twice and saw only one other couple. On our first visit to the spa on a Sunday afternoon there were dirty towels left laying around and no staff checking, little glass tiles off here and there and a VERY slippery floor. No water cooler to be seen and generally no attention what so ever (which didn't bother us). The room was nice, bathroom very spacious with a stand alone bath tub and it was very quiet, no noise but it was Sunday night.
Cons> everything is looking a little tired and while the reception staff were friendly enough most others we came in contact with had forgotten how to smile, don't go here if you are looking for friendly personal service or a polished 5 star experience.
Overall it has the feel of no-one running the ship, it needs attention and could easily lift it's game but no-one seems to give a toss. I would stay there again if I got a good deal, it's definately NOT 5 STAR, I imagine it gets away with that rating because of it's spa facilities.

Spent 2 days resting, relaxing and sightseeing. Situated close to all forms of transport as well as close to top Sydney attractions it suited me well as I felt very safe in the area alone. Perfect location, quiet rooms, superb staff, great amenities. All requests promptly attended to. Dining room excellent. Couldn't have asked for more.

Hotel is in a convenient
position in sydney.looks ok staff good..asked for late checkout and got it ...no problems .
The cons
1 room layout dumb....tv is at right angles to the bed almost unwatchable from bed
2. No bed lamp on the rhs of bed ...when pointing this out we were offered another room? Dumb again ...just get a light
3. Light switches next to bed did not work!
4. No night light so i walked into the bed in the dark...
5. Carpet dirty ..my wife found out when doing her exercise
6. Breakfast expensive ...$29 for continental..$39 for full. Ate at local cafes for half the price

I stayed at this hotel overnight and was absolutely disgusted by the customer service. I was made to feel second class and was blatantly obvious to myself, my fiancé and friends that we were not receiving the same treatment as let's say, "the people with more money". I don't get many opportunities to have time away from my kids and this hotel successfully ruined the whole experience for me. There was no milk in the room for tea and coffee and when asked if I could have some brought to the room it took a couple of hours. I will never return to this hotel and strongly recommend anyone looking for a nice night away to look at another alternative.

Upon our arrival for the very first time at the Amora, the greet staff were very friendly however, after we checked in the receptionist saw that we were looking for the lifts but did not offer us any directions or assistance which was disappointing-eventually the lifts were found. We opted to take our own luggage to our room which we found to be comfortable but disappointed to find the television in a cupboard-it (the television)had to be viewed from a "sideways" position which is not ideal to say the least and the open door of the television cupboard got in the way.The bathroom was extremely spacious and beautiful but if you don't use soap make sure you bring your own shower gel as only soap was offered. The Amora is located in an ideal position and knowing what to expect about the hotel now would still choose to stay there again because we will be prepared.

We purchased this from Rates to Go as a Mystery Deal. It was advertised as a 5 Star Hotel but it is far from it. We arrived and went to reception which was smooth but not that welcoming. The staff member didn't even direct us to the lifts or give us an idea where we were going. We got into the room and the carpet was filfthy. It was a beige colour so I suppose it would expect some wear and tear. The TV is quite small and in a cupboard that is not even in view of the bed. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quite so that was a plus. We rang reception a few times to get our complimentary access code to our internet but it wasn't being answered it would just ring right through. This happened at a few different times. We stayed 3 nights and on the last night we tried to ring reception again and no answer, we finally got someone to pick up and we requested a late check out. There was no problem with this request and normal check out is 11:00am and we extended it to 12:00 noon.

We stayed here on a weekend break courtesy of wotif.com.
From when we arrived to when we left everything as perfect bar a staff member in the Imbargo bar who couldve been abit friendlier and not plonk our change on the wet counter...
Prior to arriving , i let reservations know that we would be arriving early - no problem and that i would like the highest room within my booking- again no problem.
Room had lovely view and was spacious if abit tired looking but not a big issue. Bed was amazing, best nights sleep we had in a long time.
I loved that we were close to everthing, the Rocks, Circular Quay, Georges St and would happily recommend to friends
