We stayed here on a weekend break courtesy of wotif.com.
From when we arrived to when we left everything as perfect bar a staff member in the Imbargo bar who couldve been abit friendlier and not plonk our change on the wet counter...
Prior to arriving , i let reservations know that we would be arriving early - no problem and that i would like the highest room within my booking- again no problem.
Room had lovely view and was spacious if abit tired looking but not a big issue. Bed was amazing, best nights sleep we had in a long time.
I loved that we were close to everthing, the Rocks, Circular Quay, Georges St and would happily recommend to friends

Booked as secret deal via lastminute website to celebrate birthday. On arrival we were informed that our room has been upgraded to king corner room, which was nice gesture. A signed welcome card saying Happy birthday by GM of hotel was again touch of personalised service. Very nice room with city views on 25 floor, comfy bed and almost everything required in hotel room. Relaxing pool area which wasn't crowded. Highly recommended if you want to stay close to rocks and enjoy the food or visiting for a show at Oprah house. Only negative thing to mention is room service (f&b staff) was rude. We ordered breakfast in room, next morning which was different to what's mentioned on menu. When called guest service, I was advised it will replaced but nothing was done. Though reception staff was kind enough to adjust the bill accordingly. Over all nice stay at Amora and happy to go again.

My husband and I are staying here the night before our honeymoon cruise and it is the worst hotel experience ever. the concierge staff watched me struggle to get my suitcase up the stairs, the reception staff were rude and the room was gross. The bathroom was not properly clean with grime everywhere. The room looked like a best western with outdated furniture and average facilities. The TV has worse quality than a tv from the 90s. The location is pretty bad compared to other hotels in this price range. Room service was nice but way over priced and took twice as long as we were told it would. they also rang late at night to say a staff member had to come and get a cash payment for the meal and we couldnt pay with credit card on check out...what a JOKE!! Not sure if this is a stupid policy or if they made a judgement due to our age...either way awful management. I would not recommend this hotel at all. for this kind of money go somewhere nicer...even if the other large chains dont have great service either at least you are guarenteed a nice room. To amora, thanks for setting us up for an even better cruise because we cant wait to check out of here tomorrow!

Booked a mustery deal of Wotif. I found the hotel to be quite good. Yes it is a bit dated but the room was good and the staff were very nice. Location is very good and we had a verynice view. Very nice bath with a good bed.

Overall it was a good experience. There are better hotels around but for the price I was happy with the experience.

Room Tip: Ask how much it will cost to upgrade and bargain.

Have stayed here on several occasions. Always great service, comfortable bed and great breakfast buffet.
Parking is tight when its full so get in early.
If you are going out Friday night and need a cab, leave plenty of time. We left 40minutes for a 10 minute journey and only just made it.
Perfect position to explore the city by foot though.

This was a great hotel for our first few nights in Australia. Stay on a higer floor to minimize the road noise as this hotel is in the middle of the CBD (central business district). We stayed in 2205 and it was perfect. The bellmen were accomodating and prompt, the front desk personnel were gracious. It was spotlessly clean, modern and, most importantly, comfortable. The hotel is well situated - a few blocks from The Rocks, the opera house, many restaurants and bars, parks, and the city rail system. One thing to keep in mind is that hotels and restaurants are staggeringly expensive compared to many places in the US (think Manhattan prices). We looked around at other hotels and seemed to think that for our needs this was a very good choice and we will stay here again at the end of our trip. It's a business hotel so the internet is excellent and it's quiet.

We did not try the 2 hotel restaurants and did not have the opportunity to try the other facilities.

We flew into Sydney and went directly from the international terminal to the train which is well marked in the airport. The Wynyard station stop is directly below the hotel. On the way up to street level you pass many shops and cafes so you can get a snack before showering and hitting all the tourist spots in beautiful Sydney. BTW, if you arrive during rush hour, the city rail system/subway is much faster than the bus. It costs approximately $15 from the international terminal to the hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a higher floor.

Stayed for 3 nights on business.

Pros:
Amazing location right in the heart of the city with great access and travel options.
Lovely pool and spa pool which was always deserted.
Attentive friendly service.
Very clean.
Spacious room and lovely bathroom.
I ate in the restaurant twice and the food was good.

Cons:
Single bed which wasn't overly comfortable.
Very loud minibar which I had to unplug to be able to sleep.
Awful tv picture
