“Great Family Stay”
Reviewed January 3, 2009

We stayed through New Year and it was a fantastic location! We could walk to all the major attractions and public transportation. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a great place for a family stay in Sydney center, with Tumbalong park nearby for the kids to play. The studio was fine, but we upgraded to a one bedroom that was much more spacious and better suited to a family of four.

Hotel is situated on the edge of Darling Harbour and China Town, 5 minutes walk from Paddy's market. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment with laundry facilities, but if you are in a studio, there are laundry facilities in the hotel for guest use -the washing powder is free. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is a 5 minute walk fromTown Hall train station - from which you can buy an all day pass for use on all ferries, trains and buses. Highly recommended hotel.

We arrived at Quest at 08.30 on a Saturday morning very tired from our UK flight. Asked to leave our bags in reception whilst awaiting access at 14.00 to our Studio Room. We were immediately advised that a room was available and given a key to a 1 Bed Appt. This enabled us to grab a couple of hours needed sleep before venturing out on our first visit to Sydney.

The Appt was large with a big bedroom and even bigger lounge with full kitchen facilities. The bathroom was very clean with a good power shower and toiletries provided. We had a balcony with table and chairs which was an added bonus. Whilst we used the Appt as mainly a base to sleep, it also had TV/DVD/CD.

The location was excellent for us, situated as it is only a 2 minute walk to Darling Harbour if you turn right out of the front door and 2 minute walk to Chinatown if you turn left. With Sydney being a relatively small city we could easily walk to almost anywhere, within the city, in 20 minutes. The main shopping centre was about a 10 minute walk.

We found the reception staff to be exceedingly friendly and very helpful, although we had no real need for much contact. The room was very quiet with little noise from the road outside, which is partly pedestrianised.

All in all the Quest was a great place to stay and at £75 per night for a 3 night stay, (Booked over the internet), I thought it was good value for money, for a CIty Centre Hotel/Appt.

My wife & I would definately stay there again.

We stayed here for a week in February after initially only intending to stay for a night before moving on to another hotel. We were moved from a perfectly adequate rear room after the first night to a huge front suite with a massive balcony at the front of the building. The room had a well equipped kitchen area and was well serviced daily.
An additional bonus here is the car park in the basement as otherwise, parking would have been a nightmare. The postion of the property is ideal and within walking distance of most things.
A special mention should be made about Sebastian, the receptionist, who was a gem in terms of a welcoming prescence and of giving information on places we wished to get to. Next time we're in Sydney we'll return to the Quest.

We stayed at the Quest for three nights and found it was a great central location from which to explore Sydney--also very handy for cheap eats in Chinatown. Perfect if you just want a bed and bathroom with a little extra space for relaxing in between sight-seeing and shopping, but don't need a lot of hotel-style service. It was also fairly quiet for Sydney, since it faces onto a back laneway and the glass doors to the balcony seemed fairly soundproof. The rooms are serviced every day except Sunday, which the hotel presents as "not disturbing your Sunday sleep-in", although we were still woken early by the cleaners working in adjacent vacant rooms and the corridor. We also ran out of shampoo etc. (two tiny bottles for two people was never going to cut it), but extras were provided readily when we asked. The Quest allowed us to check in early on our first day and to leave our bags in their storage room after checking out on our last day, so we were able to get around the city unencumbered. A great place for relatively self-sufficient travellers.

We stayed at the Quest apartments for 4 ngihts in February while we were in town for the Global Challenge yacht race stopover. Our room was HUGE - very clean and tidy with nice decor. Convenient location close to Darling Harbour and central Sydney. To be honest we really only slept in our room and were out and about during the day. Just remember - it's serviced apartments not a hotel so no room service, bell boys etc.
