Whilst wandering round Chinatown looking for a cheap eatery for an evening meal, we came across the DIXON FOOD COURT, in Dixon Street, and decided to have a look see.
It seemed very popular with Asians and tourists, and decided to try a popular seafood section , as I love squid, and luckily we both found the food was so fresh and tasty , with enormous portions. You have to pay and order in advance , and then wait for the young guy to bellow out the receipt number. Quite a fun experience.
I cant remember the stall number, but its at the far right hand corner in the main part of the food court. There is also a great drinks section with Austrialan house wine sold by glass or half carafe about 10 aus dollars.
We were so impressed with the value for money at this place we ate there every night of our 6 night stay. Its only a pity that thevrest of the street is somewhat grimy and full of VERY expensive and touristy Asian restaurants.
