Owner description: The Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust is responsible for managing two of Australia’s premier sports venues – the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium. Both venues are located at Moore Park, only 4km from the central business district and adjacent to the popular bars, restaurants, cinemas and shops of the Entertainment Quarter. The historic Sydney Cricket Ground boasts an impressive list of credentials, encompassing cricket, Australian Rules Football, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, Baseball, Cycling and major concerts by the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and Elton John, Michael Jackson, Madonna, the Eagles, Prince, Green Day and the Wave Aid concert. The Sydney Cricket Ground provides the perfect balance between the big crowd atmosphere and intimacy with the on-field action. These aspects, combined with the location of the venue, make visiting the SCG a special experience for all patrons.

“Great sports ground”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

t is a nice intimate venue for watching sport - being a smaller venue does not effect the atomsphere at all - it actually makes it better. Was there in Dec for a Big Bash 20/20 cricket match. Have watched lots of Swans games at the SCG and it is great.

A great venue with atmosphere to watch Australia and other teams play cricket and other sports and highly recommended for sports fans! I saw a one day cricket match and it was day to remember!

“Amazing day out (even for non-cricket folk)”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Watched England versus Australia ODI... Fantastic day in history. There is so much more to enjoy than JUST the cricket game itself. Eating, drinking, speaking, reading, sunning, cheering and streaking (for the brave!)

I paid 50 Dollars from a tout outside the ground as the event had 'sold out' which seemed reasonable e.g. cheaper than watching a game in England more expensive than a game in South Africa for example....

Watching a ODI or a 5 day test should be on every man's wish list before they hit puberty...get married... turn 30... 40... or die

“scg”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

SCG has gone downhill since they SQUEEEEZED another 4,000 seats into an already overcrowded venue. Twice the price as Melbourne for a day at the cricket. Overbearing security everywhere. But still one of the World's great cricket grounds
