“Inexpensive Option to Bridge Climb”

Pylon Lookout at Sydney Harbour Bridge

Museum alone is worth the $11, and the views are probably almost as good as from the top of the bridge. If you have the ability to do the bridge climb and have $200 (per person) to pay for the opportunity, it's probably an opportunity not to be missed, but we had a lot of fun with the $189 saved by climbing the pylon. Caveat: there aren't any options for the mobility impaired.

I really enjoyed the Pylon Lookout because it gave me a panoramic view of the entire city. We visited this place at the beginning of the trip which was nice because it gave me a feel of how big the city is and which direction certain landmarks were located. I highly recommend it. Great for pictures of the view or of yourself in a scenic background :)

If you've seen my review for the bridge climb itself, you'll know that whilst I enjoyed it, for me it is extremely over priced. The Pylon Lookout is a better alternative in my view, on account of the fact that it is cheap to get in to ($15 per person). It is effectively a museum inside and provides a lot of interesting information about the bridge itself. The lookout itself is also at a similar height to the top of the bridge, and you can take your own pictures (something which you cannot do on the bridge climb). All in all I can only highly recommend this, whether you've done the bridge climb or not.

TOP TIP: Entry to the Pylon Lookout is free when you do the bridge climb, so it's worth doing even if you have done the climb on account of the fact that you can take your own pictures with the same view.

Although not as fancy as the bridge climb, this is worth it especially if you are interested in the history of the bridge and want to take photos from the top with your own camera. Thee are stairs, but you can go at your own pace. You also have to pay - when I did the bridge climb I got a token to go up here for free. The views are nice and you don't have to book so can pick a nice day or go up for sunset etc. nice to do if you're walking over the bridge and have time to stop.
