This is a very good motel located within walking distance of the city centre, The Rocks and Darling Harbour. The staff are friendly and professional.

Our room had two double beds so there was not a lot of space. The rooms were clean and quite.

We had access to the Club Sofitel Lounge were we had breakfast and could relax with complimentary drinks and food at night.

I would stay there again.

We received a Gift Voucher to use in a "Clasic Room". We were so excited to be staying in one of Sydney's premier hotels. What a dissapointment we received!
1. Check in was easy and simple until we were told our room was on the 11th floor. It was on the 7th. An employee seen us looking confused and asked if we needed assistance. We told him the guy told us the 11th floor, he asked "Was it a French Guy?", to which we said yes and he gave us the "it happens all the time look". Communication between staff and customers needs to be tightend.

2. Room was small, shabby and downright awful for a "Five-Star" hotel. I have had better rooms in hostels in London, Paris and Sydney! Bad lighting, dirty walls, dirty cutlery, "City Views" which were really just a view of the convenience store and a backstreet. Bed was comfy. Water pressure in shower was weaker than running rain water in a gutter. Windows in the room do not open in the slightest, making for poor ventilation. My partner and I both woke up with a splitting head ache.

3. Ordered room service. As an amatuer chef, I would love to challenge the chef on duty that night. Ordered two of the most simplest things off the menu, Pork Ribs and Wedges and a Pizza. Ribs looked like the same bones I feed my dog and were tastless. Serving size was ridiculously small. Pizza was so bland and poorly made. Is it really that difficult to sprinkle ingredients over a base evenly? For the price we paid, if that were in a restaurant, it would have been sent back.

Overall we did not enjoy our stay, room was shabby, food is way below average. Oh and how could I forget the $48 for overnight parking for staying at the hotel. The carpark does casual rates, if you intend to use it, DO NOT SAY YOU ARE A GUEST at the hotel or they will charge the $48 instead of the casual overnight rate.

We did not bother complaining to Management as we felt we would have been treated unfairly becuase we used a Gift Voucher and did not pay ourselves. There are much classier hotels in the city for the same price which provide better service than what we received.

Room Tip: Rooms at other hotels are a better option.

On first impression of the room the pillows on the bed were untidy, which made us think the bed was not made. Not a good impression.
We also found breakfast in the restaurant not 5 star. Butter bowls empty, (for at least 5 minuets, which made our toast very cold ),fruit bowls empty and a long wait for tea and coffee.

It's in CBD, yet is quiet, and only a few minutes into the shopping areas and the waterfront.
The room and bathroom were spacious, the king-size bed was very comfortable.
In-room breakfast was excellent, we thought it was better than in the dining room, really enjoyed it, good value for money. However, the cold soup we ordered one night was a rip off, very disappointing, so don't order that.
It was a good stay.

I was looking forward to staying in the Sofitel Wentworth as I had believed it to be one of the premier hotels in Sydney, if not Australia. I had attended a few functions prior and thought the hotel to be elegant, sophisticated and high quality.
Well, I won't bother. I bought the cheapest room rate at $190 or so - what a disappointment. After spending less to stay in the Sofitel So Bangkok - it was like paying 5 star prices for a hostel.
The room was tiny. There was nothing elegant or exciting in the room. While the bathroom was elegantly appointed, it was very small. The bath is DANGEROUS - steep sides, they provide you with a suction mat so you don't kill yourself - so classy.
The soap was not replaced after the first night so I had to ration it for the next day - until it was wafer thin.
The only good thing is the bed.

Downstairs for "complimentary drinks" - with conditions. You're only allowed to choose rubbish drinks (I requested a Pimms but "no" - even though it is cheaper than Gin) - so I asked for a gin and tonic (unfortunately only Gordon's gin permitted) - and got a gin and SODA. I was in too much of a rush to question in.

An attractive hotel, seemingly attractive and helpful staff - but received no personal or special service. You're really made to feel like a cheap skate for choosing the cheapest room.
Don't bother.

Room Tip: Complain and ask for an upgrade. I should have.
