Petrol is tucked away in Springfield at Kings Cross and is a quiet, elegant restaurant.. The food, a Moroccan/Asian fusion is delicious and different. The service is excellent - friendly and attentive. We had a shared starter of chicken and walnut dumplings with honey sauce, followed by main courses of Slow cooked Beef with noodles and smoked salmon risotto. We shared a blueberry and apple crumble with icecream , which was again a different take on an old favourite. All delicious. Highly recommended! NB take a jacket / wrap as the restaurant seating is all outside.

Recently visited this restaurant on our last night in Australia. The service from Clinton was very professional without being cold. He was friendly and attentive when we wanted it. The food was excellent never having Nepalese food before. The prices were a little on the expensive side, but the service and the food was great so didn't mind paying extra. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and would dearly love to go again...

This is a great Moroccan/Asian fusion kind of restaurant. The food was outstanding, the wine list extensive and the service attentive and helpful in explaining the dishes. A word of advice- bring a jacket. The dining is outside and it was a cool evening. We were there for dinner but after our experience and reading some of the other reviews, we want to return for breakfast/ brunch.

Recently we visited the place for a promotional deal in a cheese platter and wine. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We booked the place a day before. However when we arrived we were informed that they did not have the best quality cheese advertised in the deal and so gave us an option that we come back on another day for them to have the cheese available. We decided not to since we rarely go to the area and we live far away. We ordered some dumplings and we took the cheese platter with the cheese they had available. The dumplings were nice but portion too small (5 dumplings between 2 people). Wine given was also a small bottle (but was nice). The cheese platter very poor, only two small portions of cheese and toasted bread instead of bikkies. The people next to us also ordered a cheese platter and they were given the same. To say the truth even if they stock themselves with a cheese selection from Woollies or Coles they will give a better impression to customers. The portion of the two cheeses given was also very small (and these were ordinary cheeses) so one can imagine the portion of the handcrafted cheese that they promised to us if we had to return. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

We are very sorry that this customer was disappointed.
I regret as the owner when I spoke to the reviewer in person that I didn't make the guide lines more clear on the day in question. As advertised and explained on the night, in the contract agreement it states when you book you must quote the your voucher number, this lets the restaurant know that you are coming for a special offer that is outside the standard menu offered, the restaurant can then order in the items needed.
The Cheese for the summer deal - PECORA DAIRY - BLOOMY WHITE a Goats Cheese which is made to order and only last 2 weeks, was chosen to match the wine by Claudia Bowman a international cheese expert and food consultant, the platter comes with Fruit, Quince, Organic Walnut and Raisin Toast.
The Wine at was matched - a bottle of Little Miss Collett Moscato 500ml.
Great Value and experience, as long as you let the restaurant know when you book. All for $29.00 value at $65.00

On the menu, Morocco meets Asia, HANDMADE NEPALESE DUMPLINGS
The dumplings $11.50 for 5, it is recommended two baskets to share, or try all four on offer. this is not by any means a dinner, thinking that one basket would be a dinner for two!
The Cheese Platter $12.50, a small platter of two Cheeses with Fruit, Quince, Organic Walnut and Raisin Toast, great price for a small platter after dinner.

I recently stayed in the area and visited Petrol a few times. I had breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner and even just a coffee. The food is absolutely beautiful and there's SO much to choose from! Everything I had was delicious and I thought the prices were very reasonable. Each time I went here the service was great and the staff really friendly and helpful. As soon as you sit down you have a glass of water and a menu and then whether you're having food or just drinks everything arrives quickly and to an excellent standard. If I'm ever back in Sydney, I will definitely return to Petrol.
