You'd wonder how this garden flourishes in the middle of a city...wow! What a hide away tucked in the middle of the city from some serene thought.
The gardens are breath taking. The water features harbors fish, birds and unexpected Australian lizards that aren't afraid to let you get up close.
The flowers are gorgeous and the photo opps through out this area are expandable (I had a couple photos I took brought to canvas when I returned home.) A good for the soul experience.

Needed to spend some time and stumbled upon this wonderful garden just behind Darling Harbour... for entry of just AUD$3 spent over 2 hours in wonderland. Could not take a single step without a new photo op presenting itself. Beautiful buildings, ornamentals, pagodas, gardens, trees, shrubs, bamboo forest, ponds, waterfalls. Overflowing with wildlife, birds, gigantic koi carp, ducks, lizards, and the poshest of Chinese tea rooms. A must visit.

This was the perfect option for our group since one of us was a bit under the weather. So we took our time and explored all the books and vistas.
Given that you're in the heart of Darling Harbour and the major western distributor roads are all around, the peacefulness and sense of calm is a wonderful relief.
I'll attach pictures since they're going to add so much more than my words.
Go for the 11.30 am koi carp fish feeding. The fish are huge and colourful. There are water and bearded dragons lazing on rocks and turtles sunning themselves on island ricks in the lake.
Built in collaboration with the province of Guangdong, the authenticity is assured and includes some lovely gifts from that sister province of NSW such as the Dragon wall.
You can go and learn Mahjong as well and do dress ups in Chinese imperial costumes.
Altogether 5 stars. Don't miss it. We were there in sunny midwinter. Any season will be beautiful.

With a modest entrance fee, the visitor can learn part of the Chinese culture and history. This garden also celebrates the friendship between China and Australia. The garden itself, with its beautiful waterfall and thick foliage has become a popular venue for Important functions particularly wedding ceremonies.
