The people working at the reception of this hotel are excellent. They speak English, French, German and even Swedish. They offer you excellent advice on the city and take the time to explain everything to you. If someone is waiting, then someone from behind the desk takes over. Mark, the general manager, knows how to run a hotel!
The location is just outside the city center with easy access either on foot (30 minutes) or bus to the harbor. The area has many restaurants and shops. The rooms are spartan, but you will not find a better price. The hotel has a nice pool and terrace area that many guests never discover. The breakfast I would suggest as it is only 12 Australian $, and elsewhere you'll spend 20+.
The only drawback is the parking. The hotel has a small garage underneath which fills very quickly. After you must park in the surrounding neighborhoods, which is far from easy and metered. Thus you must either put money in the meter before 8AM or see if there is space in the hotel garage. But why rent a car in Sydney; public transportation is excellent and reasonably priced!More
