Owner description: See Sydney at its best - take the Climb of Your Life with BridgeClimb Sydney! With our Climb Leaders as your guide, you will suit-up in our specially designed outdoor gear and ascend the arches of the coathanger. From dawn until dusk, the view from the top is always different. Climbs are available at dawn (limited departures), during the day, twilight or night. Did you know there's more than one way to the top? choose between the original BridgeClimb, a 3.5h experience travelling on the upper arch, The BridgeClimb Express, which travels on the inner arch and bursts through to the summit from below in 2h 15min, or the BridgeClimb Sampler, a 90 minute experience that reaches a vantage point half way to the top. The BridgeClimb and BridgeClimb express are also offered in Mandarin. We also offer Special Event Climbs for some of Sydney's Festivals, such as Vivid Sydney or Australia day. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable, and uniquely “Sydney” experience!

My philosophy is "never regret anything". If you can find the time (and money - about £75 each) to do the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, then do it!! My wife and I did the climb on Saturday Oct 22nd 2005, starting at 3.00pm, which meant we came down off the bridge as the sun was setting. The views are wonderful, and you are completely safe, as you are permanently attached to a steel cable rail via a harness. The worst bit is climbing 4 vertical metal ladders to get onto the arch of the bridge, but you are not exposed to danger at any time. There are plenty of stops every 10 minutes or so, to take in the scenery, and catch your breath. As you can imagine, health and safety is of the upmost importance, and the preparation (getting togged up, having your radio and headphones fitted, and practicing going up and down the ladders), are very professionally done, and add to the experience. The groups usually contain 12 people and a guide (our group coincidentally contained 3 couples including us that were celebrating Silver Wedding Anniversaries that week). Everyone wears a comfortable bolier suit over their clothes, and you must wear trainer type shoes that grip. You cannot take anything of your own belongings onto the bridge, including cameras, but this is for safety reasons too. Enjoy it!!

Did this a second time (five years later) and it was just as much fun. Climb takes you across top of bridge to the middle and back down (highest point approx 140 meters over water). views are absolutely stunning-this time did a twilight climb and it was even a little better. Climb requires lots of climbing but is paced and structured in such a way that anyone in good health and average shape will have no problem at all. You go in groups of 8-12 and are fastened to a climbing cable the whole time so you can breathe easier.
Highly recommend for all ages 15-70+.

Stairs are narrow and close together so you are on your toes a lot. Stretch calves well and wear shoes with good cushion, especially the ball of foot.
Great climb, well put together, great people working there.

went on the Climb in May, it was amazing. The weather was amazing, it ws at around 11am - perfectly clear and dry, relatively hot too, but not too bad. I went up with my girlfriend, but she only got halfway up the main strut and had to go back cos she was scared of heights (it is very very scary). You have an hour of training beforehand where you get suited up, and learn how to 'climb' in an approved manner! Then you go out on the rails, 200ft up with only a thin grill and a metal bannister for company, it is a bit nerve wracking, but the Climb Guides are all really helpful and reassuring.
When you first emerge onto the Bridge itself you must climb around 100 stairs directly upwards via a steel ladder........now this is a bit unnerving especially as you arrive onto street level, and there are cars, buses and trains hurtling past your head at 100k's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then when you finally get onto the curve of the Bridge the feeling is euphoric. The view is amazing and the incline isnt particularly steep. You stop every now and then, either for a photo opportunity or just for a nosy at the people below. The views of the Opera House and both sides of the Harbour are unequalled in my experience, and well worth the fear of the initial ascent!!!!!

In all it takes around 3 hours, and is fantastic.
It is a bit expensive at over $100 AUD, but who cares when i got it for free so ner ner ner ner ner.

We did the Sydney Bridgeclimb in July 2005 and found it a truly unforgettable experience. If you're on a budget holiday the cost is off-putting but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The staff are absolutely brilliant and as they get you ready for the climb in your boiler suit, miner's light (for late afternoon and evening climbs), climbing equipment, radio earpiece etc etc you really feel as though you're preparing for something momentous.

Reaching the top is quite an achievement and we didn't hesitate to purchase some extra photos as (surprise, surprise) you're not allowed to take your own camera up there. We were extra-lucky - when we reached the summit, it began to rain, and the whole of Circular Quay was illuminated by a rare "circular rainbow" - absolutely stunning.

The climbs and descents on the ladders can be a little hair-raising but it's all perfectly safe and a tremendous experience.
