“Very Highly Recommended”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2012

Our stay at the Park Royal was excellent, the rooms are nicely presented always clean, staff were friendly, approachable and helpful at all times. The dinner that we had in the dining room was first class and I can be very fussy in this respect. The lamb rump was delicious and the price was very reasonable especially when you consider the exorbitant rates charged by the restaurants at Darling Harbour close by. We stayed for 4 days and I could not fault the service or the hotel in any way plus it is close to all the action.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 4th floor so the view was mainly of the freeway probably if you went higher up y...

Booked 2 nights in April 2012 in a twin (family) room on a special rate via the hotel website.
After researching many of the competitor hotels in the Darling Harbour area this came out at the best value as the rate included breakfast so took a punt.

Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The service was friendly and adequate. The room was a good size with two queen beds which were really comfortable. The bathroom was large with a good separate shower and bath.

We had a room on the city side on the 3rd floor which lacked much of a view but was very quiet. Only point to note is that there is a construction site right at the base of the hotel on that side which could at some point become both noiser and more intrusive.
Having an open atrium in the middle of the hotel does mean that some noise and food smells from the restaurant at the bottom can be detected. The hotel looks to have tried to compensate for this by putting extra padding around the doors and overall during our stay it wasn't too bad.

Having said that, the breakfast at the bottom is pretty much the main reason to stay here. Lots of choice and variety with a few treats thrown in. Normally about $30 so good to find a rate with it included.
The restaurant (and presumably) the rooms on the harbour side have a view of the main road coming into the city, nothing worth writing home about unless you're on a very high floor no doubt.

They looked after our bags whilst we spent the day in the city and then they have a large disabled toilet just off reception which served well to freshen up prior to travel.

Room Tip: Unless you get a high floor don't worry too much about the harbour views as it'll likely be...

This was our first Australian hotel as part of our East Coast trip from Sydney to Cairns for our Honeymoon and my birthday. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Great location adjacent to Darling Harbour with all the restaurants etc.. A minor hick-up caused by our travel agent was soon resolved by the helpful reception staff who took charge of the problem without question. (The travel agent had cancelled our first night for some bizzare reason). Check in was quick and efficient even when we arrived early morning. The reception arranged for our room to be cleaned first and provided us with an earlier booking in time. We took this opportunity to explore a little returning later to find all our cases etc.. waiting in our room for us. The views of darling Harbour over the flyover were great on an evening before we ventured out. nothing was too much for all the staff, they even offered us a brolley when a shower of rain was about. I would recommend this hotel to others.

We booked this hotel through a mystery deal on wotif. We stayed here overnight before our flights to our honeymoon destination.
The staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful and initiated a free upgrade to a better room. The rooms were very clean, the view was spectacular. The hotel was within walking distance of many attractions.

We found the Park Royal after we escaped another hotel so we were not in a very good mood when we arrived. The front desk clerk made everything better. He showed us several rooms so we would not have any more nasty surprises, and even got me the contact information for the general manager at the other hotel chain so I could follow up on the issues we had there. Our one bedroom suite had a spacious living room with bar setups, small refrigerator/mini bar, and desk. The marble bathroom was large and well appointed with a spa tub. Room service arrived quickly and was high quality. They have an excellent gourmet breakfast buffet with a vast number of options to suite any taste. Our room was very quiet and the bed extremely comfortable. Even housekeeping was discreet -- no pounding on your door at 8am and yelling "housekeeping." We were very happy with the service and felt comforted and well taken care of. Convenient location to Darling Harbor and the convention center.

Room Tip: High floor with a view of the harbor.
