Coogee Beach is great for whatever your taste; fish and chips by the water, a walk down the promenade. Quite a mix of people arrive at Coogee. There are some marvellous baths at Coogee, quite historical, and a good park for a picnic as you ascend the hill. It isn't a quiet little suburb as such.

Was a nice beach, with a pleasant vibe. Shops around the top with a nice grass area for picnics etc.

I live where the beaches are the most untouched in the country so its hard to compete with that,,, nice enough beach but crowded

I had a wonderful day (solo)visiting the Sea Baths by public transport. I had breakfast at the Irish type beachfront cafe, then walked to the beautiful McIvor ladies only baths for a couple of hours. Heavenly. After I'd had enough there, I walked up to Wylie Baths for lunch and more swimming and sunning. Loved it. On my walk back to the bus stop along the cliff top, I was accompanied by a hawk, circling just above my head. He was so close I could see his eyes and the wind ruffling his feathers. Magical.

Although every beach in the Sydney area is beautifully clean, Coogee also has a nice feel to it. It was not too crowded and the nearby shops and food outlets were clean and inviting.
