I have travelled to over 40 countries and even though I have seen many amazing places nothing compares to the beauty, location, accessibility, surf, bars, restaurants, beach, closeness to a city, peacefulness, people and hospitality. If you visit you won't want to leave!

I think that the beach is so popular because it's so close to the populations centers. The beaches near Noosa Head were much better, as were the waves. However, if you live in Sydney, this is a great alternative

This beach was a great place to stop for the afternoon. Nice sand, lots of people swimming and surfing and really fun to watch. They have tons of shops to buy gifts. The day we went, on Saturday, they had a market on the streets where we were able to get really nice and interested hand made items from locals. I highly recommend going to Manly. Nice drive from Sydney with beautiful views along the way.

Going down to Manly Beach for lunch is one of my favourite things to do. We quite often meet my sister and her adult kids, who live at Elizabeth Bay, on a Sunday, and they love the trip across on the ferry. There are so many places to eat, it has real community feel about it, where people of all ages and cultures enjoy a great day out. After lunch its nice to walk off lunch along the promenade under the magnificent Pine trees that line the beachfront or around to Shelley Beach along the beautiful path beside the water, then up to Fairy Bower lookouts with views over the ocean and back towards Manly and Queenscliff.
