The highlight of Manly Beach is the ferry ride from Circular Quay, which takes around half an hour. The beach is wide and not too crowded, better than Bondi and has good swimming - BUT beware of the strong rip tide. Nice but typical beach shops and restaurants surrounding

“Lovely Beach...Cool place”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

My wife and I loved Manly beach. It's a short ferry ride away, but might as well be a different world. Everything slows down here and turns into an awesome beach town. Nice small shops and restaurants. The people are laid back and cool and the beach is gorgeous. I prefer manly over Bondi because it seems less commercial and more personal.

“Urban pleasures”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

This is a great 'burb of Sydney. Yes the beach is good but the village ambience in the middle of the city is really cool. Check the street shopping, the children's beach on the inside, the kid's play park and for the adults a pretty good quaint and old art gallery.

“Great beach and easy access from Sydney”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Beautiful beach, many shops and eateries available. Easy access via the Ferry from Downtown Sydney (Circular Quay). Strongly recommended -- plan to stay and sunbathe, swim, surf, or just wander the shops and eateries.
