“Heaven on earth !”

There are no words to describe this place. All the colors of the plants, wide grases, tropical trees, the opera view and the water in between. WOW !

“The green heart of the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2014

The Botanic Gardens are one of the reasons Sydney is my favourite city in the world. Being able to walk around the green open spaces is a luxury you don't find everywhere. And I love the signs - here in England you wouldn't be encouraged to walk on the grass, hug the trees and talk to the birds ;-)

“Beautiful gardens for free”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2014 via mobile

Just beyond the Opera House from Circular Quay are Sydney's Royal Botanical Gardens.

These cover a vast area right in the city centre and are free to use.

The park is home to a vast array of plants, trees and birds and also the views from it are magnificent. We can recommend walking a little further round the first bay to Mrs Macquarie' Chair for more super views.

If you have time, include a tour of the Governor's House inside the park. Entrance is free and the tour is excellent.

“Beautiful gardens to take a walk or rest from the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2014

A magical part of Sydney, which is unfortunately no secret to the countless tourists! It's a beautiful and well kept park that makes a nice break from the often hectic city with easy access to the Opera and harbour area.

“An oasis of calm”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

The streets of Sydney are busy with traffic and tourists. Not so, the Royal Botanic Gardens. It is nice to have the option to walk to the harbour through the gardens, rather than on the busy streets. The gardens are large and quickly the sounds of traffic fade away. There are many tropical plants, and birds, and pathways to get lost on. There are lots of grassy areas on which to take a rest.
