Found ourselves in the gardens a number of times and saw something new every time. The free tours that leave at 10.30am and 1pm every day was definately worth going on. The volunteers were very friendly and informative and enthusiastic. Our guide had been doing the tours for 10 years. We took a heap of photos each time and it was amazing how when you compared between the days they plants change with the sun/rain etc. definately worth a visit....

A must see in Sydney. Next to Circular Quay and the Opera, the Royal Botanic gardens are great for relaxing on the grass or taking a stroll, getting lost amongst its many gardens... It also offers a great view of grass esplanades and the city skyline behind.

One of the most breathtaking sights in the World, beautifully presented in the most amazing harbour, plenty of drinking and dining options in the area.

Definitely stop by here for a scenic park walk and to get another perspective of the picturesque Opera House and Bridge. Lovely scene.

Beautiful gardens and neat to see some plants we have in the U.S. in a more natural setting (allowing them to grow much larger and impressive). Not overwhelmingly large garden so easy to take it all in with plenty of opportunities to stop and rest as needed. Grab a brochure at the visitor center that provides a guide to the numerous birds. Incredible views of the bridge, opera house and downtown. And take a few extra minutes at the pool with the eels...they jump out of the water occasionally..crazy! Also, we had the burgers at the cafe in the gardens (the one underneath the pricey restaurant)...surprisingly good. Be warned if you sit at the tables outside the cafe to eat (we didn't)...the ibis' get aggressive and jump on the tables to get the food.
