I used to work a block from here, and I would go for lunch all the time. I love the botanic gardens, it's an escape from the city, within in the city. Picknicking and Sunday fundays with friends in the park during spring and fall, when its not quite warm enough for the beach, were just awesome. The grounds are immaculate, and it is right off the ocean. A must see if you're in Sydney.

Spend an afternoon strolling through these beautiful gardens and see the birds, bats and many different plants. Finish up with a picnic at Mrs Macquerie's point where you can watch the sunset behing the opera house and harbour bridge - excellent pictures from here also.

On your first visit to syney, enter the Botanic Gardens from the NSW Art Gallery end as the first thing you do. Walk up Mrs Macquarie Road and keep going. When you turn the corner at Mrs Macquarie's chair, you will fall in love with Sydney!

This place is amazing! Really cool native plants flowers birds and . . . bats!

My wife and I wlaked around the gardens during our stay in Sydeny as part fo our honeymoon. We loved the walk from the Opera House round to Mrs Macquaries Chair taking in the cockatoos that are as numerous as pidgeons are back home as well as some gourgous plants and flowers. Well worth setting aside a few hours here!
