Owner description: Spanning the city center to the North Shore, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a wide steel arch bridge known for its beauty as well as function, providing a crossing for cars, trains, bikes and pedestrians. While the more daring can do the BridgeClimb to the top of the structure, opened to traffic in 1932, anyone can enjoy a walk for free.

The Sydney Harbor Bridge is such a beautiful landmark. What better way to spend a morning than to walk across it? We got an early start, parking in The Rocks area, which is also beautiful and we walked up to the bridge entrance and embarked on a tour of the bridge itself. For the adventurous, check out the Bridge Climb outfit, that gives you full mountain climbing gear and walkie-talkies and allows you to literally climb onto the bridge structure (takes like 3 hours). We stuck to the pedestrian walkway. The views are just stunning! Looking back at Sydney Harbor and all of the other landmarks such as the Opera House is great. Wonderful photo opportunities abound. The bridge is just a few years older than the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, and the walk is lovely but I was missing the unimpeded views from San Francisco, since the GG Bridge does not have a "cage" surrounding the walkway. And yes, more people jump for that reason. At Sydney, the walkway is almost surrounded by fencing, but they do at least leave a little space open to look and take pictures. Since the bridge is beautiful it is a must-do activity to walk it when in Sydney. We were a bit too early to enter the pylon to go to the top of the support for even better views. But note that, like most things in Sydney, this is a for-fee part of the bridge - costing $11/adult. It opens at 10am.

I would not classify the Sydney Harbour Bridge as a must do activity while in Sydney (it is a walk across a bridge). Certainly, there are great views but you will be constantly reminded of the nearby traffic. The more interesting walks are on either side of the bridge. There is a bridge climb that we did not do (it is quite expensive). We also did not do the tower near the middle of the bridge that also charges a fee.

Every time I see a picture of this bridge it only makes me smile. I love walking along the bridge to get the views of the harbour in both the day and night and to just look at the bridge itself is amazing. The architecture and story behind the bridge is worth exploring to have a greater feel. It is great in the evening to sit across the bridge with a coffee and just take in the view and people watching is great fun.

Was really excited to see the Bridge, and wasn't disappointed. We walked across it - great views. Big climb to get up to it from the Rocks.

Our hotel was next to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, so visiting it was a must. At first we were lost in how to get to the level to walk across it. But after several minutes we found our way and off we went.

The walk across the bridge is amazing. The view of each side of the harbor is beautiful. If I wasn't tired due to lack of any sleep the night before, I would have asked my partner that we explore the other side of harbor.

We considered doing the Bridge Climb, but I am glad we walked across instead. Being tired, I would not have lasted the bridge climb. But this was a better choice. Beautiful views and it's free.
