“A great way to spend a few hours”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

I was delighted to show off one of Sydney's icons to a friend visiting from overseas. We went on a guided tour of this magnificent structure and even as a local I still learnt some interesting facts. The guide was very enthusiastic and ensured all questions were answered. Afterwards it was time to bathe in her beauty by having a wonderful lunch at the opera bar in the promenade. After a lot of pictures taken for souvenirs, it was time to move on and walk around to the botanical gardens which is just around the corner from the opera house steps. So much to see and enjoy!

“Attend a performance!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

Instead of taking the usual tour, we purchased tickets online a few months ahead of our trip to Sydney. The symphony performance was in the main concert hall. We really enjoyed seeing and hearing a concert in this iconic opera house!

“Spectacular building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

This was an informative trip, we went early in the morning (9am) so it was a small group which made a big difference. The information is given very clearly and there is no issue with hearing as you are issued with earphones to hear what the guide is saying. The builiding is just as amazing inside. We were lucky enough to be able to take photos inside the main area as no-one was using it. They take privacy very seriously - one stage was being set up for the show that night so photography was not allowed, it was made very clear when you could and couldn't take photos so there was no confusion. The history of the desigin, building and funding is fascinating. I would have liked it to have taken a bit longer, just to sit in some of the areas was a pleasure.

“World Class!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

I have always wanted to see this place, and I can tell you it does not disappoint!!! We took a tour (highly recommend) and saw this great building and the history behind it. In the evening we took in a performance by Joshua Bell and the Australian Youth Orchestra, and it was magnificent!!!

“A landmark”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

Easy enough to reach by train and a few minutes walk. Loved the view of this landmark and around it. Nice cafes nearby. Ugg boots were on sale at nearby shop and ended up buying a pair for my granddaughter.
Not too crowded, but nearby civil works.
View of sun setting behind the Sydney Bridge was great.
All in all, a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
