I visited the greatest wonder of the world exhibition. It was fantastic! A real eye opener to what it was like in Australia in the 1850's during the gold rush and around Sydney at that time. The photos of mining communities as well as those of Sydney are stunning. The collection of plates is worth catching. I found the whole thing inspiring and visited several times. The library itself is a great building and worth looking around.

One of the best libraries in Australia. Staff are very helpful. Free WiFi, and plenty of power outlets.

Want some quiet time in a busy, brash, bold city. Go to the State Library and look at where Sydney came from. Such a journey and such knowledgeable, enthusiatic and friendly staff.

This state library is not near as impressive as the State Library of Victoria but as a place to get free WiFi and access to computers/books/mags, it is great.

I love going to the state library of NSW. It's big, its white (very ethereal) ... in fact its whole character makes you want to pick up a book even if its only to look at the pictures. The staff are always polite, friendly and helpful.

I try to go once a month at the very least. They always have great exhibitions, interesting collections. The curator there has a wonderful eye for pulling photographic exhibitions together.

If you live in Sydney and never been here, you are missing out a treat.
If you're a visitor to our fair shores please take the time to visit this unusual building.
Great little cafe just inside the main foyer, try it. It's good
