Check the internet before travel, cleaner rooms with actual self catering facilities ARE available for same rate.

Exactly what you’d expect. Clean, comfortable and cheap. About 45 mins from Opera House but still quite central and it is near the Museum train station. It's quite new and well equipped. One bad thing was that the wireless was ridiculously expensive, but otherwise highly recommend as a base to explore the city.

Arrived at this hotel off a flight from Perth,WA

First impressions: spacious but busy, appeared to be a popular hotel for people going nighclubbing.

The rooms were spacious and clean, good choice of tv channels, but apart from that noth much to say, no pool/gym facilities.

A good but basic hotel to explore Sydney from

I stayed in this hotel for a week in August. It's very central, close to Hyde Park, Oxford Street where you can find all sorts of restaurants. Getting on a bus or the subway is no problem. Museum station is just a block away. Lots of space in the hotel room, and it comes with a fridge and microwave. There are grocery stores nearby so it is easy to buy food, store it in the fridge if needed and heat up a quick dinner.
The hotel has just been renovated so it looks very modern. Hotel staff were curtious, helpful and kind. Mattress was a bit firm, but not uncomfortable. Rooms are also quiet.
Helpful tip - book online on a Tuesday. They offer discounted rooms on this date, and the price will include a free breakfast ($12 value). The buffet breakfast offered cereal, yoghurt, spaghetti, beans, bacon, sasauge, bacon and scrambled eggs.
No frills in this hotel. But if like me you just need a place to stay, you can't go wrong with this place.

The hotel is in a brilliant location, close enough to access the cities main attractions on foot, but just far enough away to be quiet! The hotel is beautifully presented, has obviously been re-furbished recently and done to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they had all the answers to our questions and always had a smile on their faces! There is a restaurant just around the corner, which is advertised in the hotel, where you can get good food and drink in nice surroundings. Can't fault this hotel at all, and the city of Sydney is amazing, overall an excellent stay!

I was very unhappy with the service at this hotel. The accommodation was fine enough as I wasn't expecting too much because of the cost of the room. However, the bedding was dirty and covered with hair. In addition I was charged $24 AUD for a phone call that I was told would cost me 80 cents. I had actually called the front desk, provided them with the number I was planning on calling and they then confirmed that it would only cost the 80 cents. When I went to check out I was told of the outrageous price and that I must have been re-directed to another number and that's why I was charged. They would not do a thing for me. They told me the number that was dialed, which I didn't call and they still made me pay for it. They had already taken a $50 deposit from me when I checked in so there was nothing I could do other than pay the $24 bill that I did not create. I was brushed off as just another customer and was very dissapointed as to how they handled the situation.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a week, and were very happy with the hotel. We were going to stay in a backpackers hostel just out of the city, but then found this hotel on offer, which worked out near enough the same price! No other could come close to matching the price.
The location is very good, close to the Museum station, so getting around is not a problem. The area itself is nice enough, near Hyde Park and within walking distance to the city centre and other attractions.
The room was clean and spacious, the bed comfy. Good sized bathroom, although the design of the shower means you get most of the floor wet!
The staff were extremely friendly, happy to answer any queries and doing their best to assist you in any way (such as trying, unsuccesfully, to track down a tin opener for me!).
Free breakfast ($12/day) and/or wi-fi would have been nice, but for the price I can't really complain.

All-in-all, a very pleasurable stay, highly recommended.
