Nice room, not much of a view but spacious and comfortable. Very disappointed with executive lounge - when I first went in (in business attire) the staff were extremely friendly. When I went in casual clothes my room number was abruptly demanded (either do this for everyone or not at all, Westin!). I then received a text from a friend and left, taking a bottle of soft drink. I was then scolded by the same staff member and was told "it's not meant to supplement the minibar". I can certainly understand requiring alcohol to be consumed only in the lounge, but soft drink?! Very disappointing.

The gym is also quite a trek and didn't look particularly nice (i assume it is a separately owned gym) which is a shame for a 5 star hotel with so many business travellers.

The other service was good, but I don't plan to return.

We recently stayed at The Westin on the first leg of our holiday around nsw & qld. We have never been to Australia before so needless to say The Westin was our first experience of residing in the country. On first impression The Westin is impressively presented with a grand foyer & attentive staff. Our room, with a beautiful up close & personal view of the clock tower, was clean, spacious & well equipped. As, I'm sure with most first time tourists to Sydney, our first priority was to visit circular quay, inclusive of the Sydney opera house & harbour bridge. The Westin hotel is ideally situated on Pitt Street which, as one of the main roads in the city, leads directly there. The walk was about 10 minutes, with 3 children in tow, & was very easy to follow. Circular quay certainly does not disappoint & is one of the most breathtaking areas I have ever experienced. The hotel has entrances onto other streets around the area, also leading you within minutes to the Westfield shopping centre amongst others. We enjoyed breakfast at The Westin each morning as a family, which was included in our booking price; I think you need to clarify this inclusion at the time of booking however. The buffet style breakfast really was excellent, with every kind of breakfast to satisfy every requirement. The staff were attentive, friendly & helpful. The restaurant where breakfast is enjoyed is aesthetically beautiful, light, airy & very pleasant for early morning. I would recommend eating as early as you can, however, as we left it until a little later one morning & it can get rather busy. Overall I would certainly recommend The Westin as its convenience & cleanliness make it a hotel well worth a visit.

Dear Mrsjoholt

Thank you for sharing your comments following your recent stay at The Westin Sydney whilst travelling in Australia. We are delighted you could take advantage of our central location to take in all the sights Sydney has to offer. The SuperFoodsRX buffet breakfast in Mosaic under the stunning glass atrium is a great way to start the day well nourished. We look forward to welcoming you back the next time you are in Sydney.

Kind regards

i stayed at the westin sydney on a reduced rate for a wedding still payed $295 per night for 2 nights. rooms are nice but well overpriced, when we had our breakfest they were cleaning our table when we were still eating, and that happend each day. the hotel is well placed for shopping but a long walk for the opra house and bridge.

well this was a great hotel. I stayed with my daughter who was booked for business. The check in was friendly and seamless, bags delivered to our rooms just after we got into them. Room service was soooo expensive, but served so piping hot that the chef may have been in the room with us! coffee in our room after waking was over 22 dollars for 2 coffees. 8 dollars delivery fee to our room. But again, hot and fresh and yummy... thankfully!! Great hotel in the most central position you could get. If u can afford it, do it! Luxury everything.

Always stay in either the Westin or Sheraton on The Park, both Starwood Hotels, when visiting Sydney. We chose the Westin for our stay in Sydney a couple of weeks ago. It is in a great central location in Sydney CBD and also very close to good shopping. My feeling this time was the hotel is tired and needs a refresh. It would be over 10 years old and it hasnt changed. Love the heavenly beds and linen!
