My husband and i stayed at the westin to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. As an event & marketing director i stay in hotels more than 50 nights a year and prefer the westin when in Sydney. This was my first visit as an spg platinum member and i was pleased to note the faultless businesslike service was the same.
The westin is perfectly located for business travelers or those wishing to hop, skip and walk to the best of Sydney.
The Food is always delicious, considered and wholistically executed .. Whether ordering room-service, attending an event or dining at Mosaic. Frequent travellers and new brides will appreciate the healthy selections.
The Scent is white tea and the in-room toiletries are just right.
The Rooms are spacious, contemporary, inviting and warm. With blonde wood, thoughtful lighting and the best hotel bath and rainfall shower.
Everything is spotlessly Clean,  no stray hairs, smudges or dusty dubious smelling scatter
cushions to be found here.
We had dinner at Pendilinos, a 5 minute walk from the westin and nestled in the strand arcade. This Italian gem is authentically out of this flippen world!

For the best coffee and lunch, stroll down through the mall to Westfields and locate Taste Bakery. Campos coffee, French banisters stuffed with vietnamese flavors and the permanent smell of burnt butter!

Basically, if you think the shangri-la is Ahhhmazzing the westin is not for you

We recently stayed for 2 nights in an executive room.
The staff in the executive club lounge are a credit to the hotel. Service was attentive without hovering and drinks were always refreshed promptly.
Rooms are a good size and beds are exceptionally comfortable hence known as 'heavenly beds'.
Location is also great for shopping - not far to lug all those shopping bags!!!

Stayed in an executive suite for five nights.
Pros:
The location is great; close to Circular Quay (10 min walk) and Darling Harbour (10 min walk), with the new Westfield Sydney and almost any store you could want less than 5 min from the front door. The hotel is also situated on top of quite a few different restaurants (sushi, spanish, steak, greek, etc), the two of which we tried were very good.
The suite was very spacious with a bedroom, lounge, bathroom and walk in robe.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath incredibly deep.
The service provided by every single member of staff we met was fantastic. From check in, to an emergency laundry requirement, to getting a beer in the bar at midnight (the two incidents unrelated), nothing was a problem. The service request phone, where you just push one button regardless of your needs, is a great idea.
The executive club had a great view of the city and provided good service both at breakfast and later when we returned for complementary canapes and drinks each night.
My wife used the Endota day spa one day and felt it was the best spa she's ever had.
Cons:
The pool is almost impossible to find without taking a GPS. It is situated within the health club next to the hotel who, we felt, were not happy with the concept of hotel guests using their equipment.
The coffee in the executive club is machine made, not barista made and, consequently, doesn't give you that wake up zing in the mornings.
Overall, we felt the Westin really delivered what we were looking for: a great hotel that we could use as a base for exploring Sydney. It's not cheap, but nothing in Sydney is at the moment.

Room Tip: Use the best rate guarantee for a cheaper deal!

Only negative is that the parking was very dear and they tried to up sell us saying we could get a room sooner. Actually our room was ready and fanastic. Such a good location and a great city.
Loved staying here and would do it again in a heart beat

My husband and I stayed here last Friday night after a special night out for my birthday. I was a little worried after reading some negative reviews, but we were very impressed. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like valued guests. On checking in, we were offered a late checkout without even asking for it. The staff were efforlessly polite and friendly. Every staff member took the time to chat to us, and enquire if we were enjoying our stay. Although we had booked the cheapest room through Wotif, it far exceeded our expectations. It was large, clean and bright. The bathroom was wonderful, and the bed was soooooo comfortable, I didn't want to get up the next morning. Can't think of a single negative comment to make. First class hotel with first class service. Highly recommended.

Stayed there for a long weekend, sightseeing, and were very happy with our choice. On purpose, we stayed in the old part of the hotel, which is highly recommended. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, the room spacious and very well maintained. The location is within walking distance of Harbour Bridge and the Opera House (approx. 20 mins), less than 10 mins to the business district. A subway station is close by with direct trains to the airport.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the old, historic part.
