My husband and I spent 3 nights at this hotel and were really impressed with the location and standard of accomadation. We booked ,with the hotel, transportation to the airport.Having checked 3 times that everything was ok we waited in the reception for our transport.Unfortunately it did not arrive. The problem we had was we had saved only enough money to pay the coach company. The hotel could not explain why the transport had not arrived and recomended a taxi.Things went from bad to worse along with our remaining money. It was a pity the staff did not know how to deal with the situation in a more professional way.

fortunately we had a personal recommendation for this hotel - if we had relied on the reviews we might not have risked it! True, it wasn't luxury accommodation - but our research showed we would have had to pay alot more for that in this good a location. We never intended to spend much time in our room other than sleeping - it was a base from which to explore the city, & for that it was perfect (although waking up to a view of The Opera House was great!) It was so nice to be able to pop back to our room whenever we needed to without wasting time or money on transport costs. Our only minor complaint was that the pool area didn't seem to get much sun - but that wasn't what we were there for anyway!

We were surprised that a hotel with such a "price tag" would be so desperately in need of renovation - or at least a lick of paint and a new carpet!
Staff were great and the location was perfect for exploring Sydney!!

The hotel is in a fabulous location - so near the bridge, transport, restaurants etc. but our studio apartment was a disappointment. We had no balcony which we thought most of the rooms had and only one of the windows could be opened with one of those wind up fixtures which opened out to about 6 inches. The room was dark at the back of the building so there was no view. The kitchen facilities were basic. Also the sheets on our bed were torn which I found a bit depressing!
I would recommend for the location but for the price I think it could be better.

I stayed at The Stafford with my daughter on the final leg of our whistle stop tour of the east coast of Australia. The hotel is in a prime location and is really central when sightseeing in Sydney. The hotel staff were really helpful. It was raining when we first arrived. The receptionist recommended a nearby restaurant and even allowed us to borrow an umbrella for the duration of our holiday. Our luggage was damaged on out flight and the staff helped with the repair. Our stay in this hotel was the perfect end to a lovely holiday

This hotel is in the Rocks - such a convenient location, just 5 minutes walk from the harbour, with views of the Bridge, Circular Quay and the Opera House. Good restaurants are also nearby. The Tourist Office is also within a 5 minute walk.
Our apartment-style room was great and there is an all-night supermarket at the end of the street - a bit pricey, but convenient. (The internet access, with web-cams, is cheaper at the supermarket, than in the hotel)
The staff were all very polite and welcoming, and very helpful.

Stayed here with my partner while he was on business, so I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time by myself while out and about. While it did meet my general requirements, it wasn't by any means as good as it could possibly be. There was some definite advantages - the location was perfect, the foyer and pool were lovely and, as a general rule the staff were very friendly.

However, there was room for improvement. When we made the booking we specifically asked for a room with a balcony, which we didn't get. The batteries died in our remote, the beds were very poorly made, there were no bathrobes, there was no 'Do Not Disturb'/'Please make my room' sign in our room, and there was no dinner service whatsoever. And one one day, getting back from being out and about at 5pm, our room had not been made. Mentioning it to the Front Office they mentioned that they had been busy - however, this is really no excuse.

Ultimately Sydney is a very compeditive market for hotels. Should I should choose to come back to Sydney, I would definitely choose to stay somewhere else.
