“Good service hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Was there for business and found concierge and front desk quite attentive and greeted everyone with a smile. Room was spacious and comfortable although would have loved a better room view instead of a small window overlooking a road. Was a little disappointed to know despite paying AUD310 a night, the hotel does not come with free wi fi in the room - instead we were "encouraged" to buy a drink from their restaurant and get the wifi code from them. Apart from that, location wise very near to the Rocks and walking distance to Circular Quay and the view of the Harbour Bridge is quite spectacular.

Room Tip: if you are particular about room view, ask for a better view room.

Stayed one night for business following lunch.

Food was good, perhaps more selection would be better as it was limited.

Front desk service was very good, sleep quality was also good. My only comment on the rooms was white everything is a bit clinical.

Pity it's hard to see the Hotel name when driving past- missed it as we were looking for something totally different than the understated entry. However, the Great front end staff more than made up for that. Concierges attended to our car, and baggage, we were checked in quickly & given our room (with a surprise upgrade) before checkin time which was great as we'd been driving for 41/2 hrs!
Room near lift- worried me till we got inside then total quiet with a great view of Walsh Bay & Harbour. Restaurant service good, food exceptional, & we were able to leave our car with the hotel all day whilst doing the bridge climb. Will be back - great but not for those not on a budget though.

Room Tip: Our room was lovely & quiet even though right opposite lifts.

A fantastic location, tucked away under the harbour bridge and a stones throw from the Rocks. The room was quite basic but fine. It was disappointing being near the renovations which seemed to start quite early and noisily.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the water side.

My friend and I booked this hotel through Wotif. The price was competitive and the location was perfect. We were slightly disappointed that our room only had a small window of a view of the street. Be sure to ask for a room with a view. Preferably over looking Sydney Harbour!
It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great but a bit pricey at $35.00 AUD a head!

On our way back to the UK we stopped in Sydney for 2 nights and always fancied the location of the Sebel and were delighted with our choice. The hotel is a converted warehouse building. The staff are welcoming, smiling and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and there are views of the bridge and Opera House from almost every angle. The outside bar area is a superb, peaceful place to enjoy the view and to have a quiet drink and watch the world go by.

Just a short walk from the Sebel takes you to the Rocks and Circular Quay so whilst the location is quiet and peaceful you don't have to travel far to be in the thick of it, if you so desire.

The area around the hotel is much quieter than the city or Darling harbour and the ambiance of the hotel was so inviting that we will happlily give up all our other hotel choices and stay here on our future Sydney visits.

We stayed just for one night in October, and unfortunately the Sydney weather wasn't kind to us which didn't show this hotel (or Sydney Harbour!) off in all its glory however we still had a great time! The hotel very kindly let us check-in early morning when we arrived which was fantastic as we'd just come off a direct flight from the UK! We had booked a Waterside King Deluxe and it was really lovely. The bed was big and very comfortable, the television modern and worked well, tea and coffee making facilities etc. The view was OK although mostly of the building opposite with a little of the harbour if you stood in the right place! Fortunately as the weather was so bad this didn't matter so much .... however had the weather been good I think we would've been a little disappointed with our 'view'. The room's situation was quiet though and we were very grateful for that.

The bathroom was very large and well equipped. Perfect for a shower after a long flight! The toilet is noisy but only for a second or two - and I would advise against avoiding flushing because of the noise, as the toilet does quickly fill up and I had to unblock it once!! So I'm not actually complaining about the flush, just make sure you use it!

We did find our room hard to heat (which was necessary as it was so cold and wet outside) and it had a high ceiling which may not have helped. Very big room, but on reflection a smaller King Waterside would probably have been perfectly OK for us for one night!

We only ate breakfast in the hotel but it was excellent. Lots of choice and well presented. Unfortunately the restaurant was very cold and I froze next to the window (again see comments about the weather - I doubt it's like this very often!) so if you also feel the cold take an extra layer to the restaurant just in case!

The location of the hotel is very good. Quiet, despite being under the bridge, but near to the Opera House / Circular Quay and the Botanic Gardens. All within about a 20 minute walk max. Also some good restaurants nearby.

We would certainly recommend this hotel. It is clean, modern, well equipped, friendly staff, good food .......! The reasons I haven't given five stars are because of internet/wifi (lack of / too expensive) and because of the heating issues, however these issues were minimal given the lovely time we had here and we are very pleased to have chosen this hotel.

Room Tip: Definitely choose Waterside however don't pay extra for a King Deluxe unless you really wants lo...
