This was my first stay at this hotel and after this, I won't stay anywhere else! The staff were so helpful and welcoming and our room was fabulous....and included a balcony, something which is so unusual these days! The room was spacious, which is also unusual in so many places these days....our stay was just lovely. If you want real service combined with luxury, don't go anywhere else....this is the place!

A very comfortable classy small hotel right in the Rocks area. Location is central to Circular Quay and City with little street noise. Quite a colonial atmosphere, warm and inviting. Our room was spacious with a sumptious bathroom with a choice of three shower heads & an enormous bath. Staff very polite & helpful and breakfast was superb.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is a little out of the way, but it only took us 10 minutes to walk to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. Its a very quiet area on a quiet street. We had previously stayed here when it was the Observatory Hotel and must admit the service had dropped slightly. We recieved a welcome fruit platter when we stayed last time, this didnt happen on this visit. The staff were wonderful and couldnt be more helpful.
The pool, gym, steamroom, sauna etc are wonderful. Extremely clean, and really pleasant. Little touches such as herbal tea and iced water on hand are lovely. Yes, it might be slightly more expensive than other hotels, but well worth the stay if you want to be pampered and enjoy great service.

Charming staff. Relaxing and peaceful five star stay in a great historical part of town. I have stayed before and i will stay again.
If you think the restaurant is too expensive try the Brasserie. The same ambience, great food and a live pianist on the evening I ate. My favourite Sydney hotel!

I last stayed at The Observatory Hotel in January 2012. At this stage it had not changed to The Langham. I have stayed here quite a few times for a Sydney getaway and each time it has been superb.

After staying in The Langham Melbourne recently I can only assume that their even higher standards will take this property even higher.

I have also used this hotel for several business guests and all of them have thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Hotel does not have a view over the bridge or Opera House albeit it is smaller, more intimate and for my taste better appointed than the other large offerings in my home city. The restaurant is also terrific but sadly the spa facilities leave a lot to be desired and I cannot recommend these. Once again perhaps as The Langham this too will improve?

A word of caution, when the new building of the massive Barangaroo complex starts (http://www.barangaroo.com), this may affect the hotel as most rooms looking West may be compromised? Check on that before you book.

Dear loyal guest,

Many thanks for reviewing The Langham, Sydney on TripAdvisor. We were delighted to read your positive comments about your experience with us.

As a regular guest with us, it is always wonderful to read that we are continuing to create great memories time after time.

Rest assured that the Barangaroo development does not compromise The Langham, Sydney’s views as that section will be parklands.

Have a delightful day.

Kind regards,

We have stayed at this hotel when it was The Observatory and due to a special opening offer via one of the hotel booking agencies we use frequently, we decided to take advantage and stay at the now Langham over a long weekend. We have experienced the Langham Club Floor, Peking Road, Hong Kong so were interested to see how the Langham, Sydney would be.

Apart from the signature Pink Langham touches, stationery etc., we thought we were back at The Observatory, which given the early changeover period, is understandable.
We had a family afternoon tea(Tiffin) in our Harbour view room(Pyrmont Bay side), which was very tasty and having the wonderful choice of leaf teas, served in individual teapots was much appreciated – the Galileo room was booked out. We had dinner down the road at Fish At The Rocks, which was excellent. Breakfast included was average.

Overall, it was very comfortable, with good staff positivity, however, a couple of surprises in that we had no idea that credit card payments incur a 1.6% surcharge until check-out and the charge for WiFi is $20 for 24 hrs. – afraid I could not see this advised anywhere on their website(we did check before choosing to use or not).
