After reading the great reviews of this apartment hotel, we were quite excited to visit. As it turned out, there were several positives, including the apartment's facilities and courteous hotel staff. Also, the location across from Chinatown was a plus. However, there were also some negatives, depending on your apartment location and whether you are sensitive to noise. We stayed there a few weeks ago, and we had a very nice room with balcony facing Chinatown. It seemed like a great location, but it turned out to be very noisy -- traffic from the hotel's location at the intersection of two heavily traveled roads, and street noise (people laughing and shouting) until well past 3am. The hotel staff were able to relocate us to an interior room, and we had no problems with noise after that. The immediate neighborhood is also going through some sort of evolution -- a building across the street is being renovated (construction noise), while the large high-rise building behind the hotel (and shown in the hotel photo) is completely empty.

Stay here, simple as that. The location is actually right next to Chinatown, the staff (particularly Matthew) fantastic, knowledgeable and professional. Fully fitted kitchen and cleaned every day.

Get a day tripper ticket, its your passport to travel all day on bus/train and ferry. Walk from Bondi to Coogee, fantastic scenery and away from the crowds. The transport system in Sydney is the best I have ever come across, the sign says "train in 3 minutes" - the train comes in 3 minutes, not like the UK at all!

I had a great stay at Clarion Suites in November 2004 but was very disappointed as there were no facilities at all. The gym and pool were being refurbished although I could use the pool in another hotel close by which was not ideal.

The rooms and staff were excellent and ideal for a business trip but not really suitable for tourists.

There was no coffee shop, bar or lounge to sit and mix with other people so after sightseeing the only thing to do was sit in the room.

As I travel to Australia regularly, usually alone, my next visit would be to a hotel with lots of facilities.

We stayed here for 3 nights early November this year - location can't get any better! Opposite China Town, shops & restaurants all around and a walking distance to the harbour, even for lazy ones like us travelling with a 3 year old! Highly recommended - good staff for advise.

We stayed here for 5 nights in a 2 bed apartment.
This hotel is great.

The rooms are very modern and bright with A/C
All mod cons. fully fitted kitchen, microwave, hifi, video
Two lavish bathrooms (handy for the four people) and a great big balcony. And rooftop pool and gym too.

Location is great. Right next to Paddys Market and Chinatown.
Short walk to Darling Harbour. The monorail is literally in the building and the tram is a short walk away.
It's within walking distance of central station and hyde park (for buses)

The staff were amazing. Always helpful.
One night we were going to the opera and wanted to get a taxi to take us there. We were told that at that time (6.30pm) it would be hard to book one as it would be very busy and it was pouring down with rain.

So the staff member stood out in the middle of the road to flag one down. Getting himself totally drenched for about 15 minutes until a cab pulled up. That's dedication to service.

They also seemlessly booked a tour to the Blue Mountains for us.
Which was one of the highlights of the trip.

The suites are really in an apartment block shared with renters and owners.
The adjacent hotel manages the apartments and they provide the reception staff.
Works well.
