My wife and I spent 2 nights at Mantra 2 Bond Street and really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was of a good size for a CDB Property, the service was very good with a smooth and quick check in and as we were catching a late flight upon check out our bags were stored without any fuss. The bed was extremely comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was terrific. Although the apartment contained a kitchen we did not use any of the facilities as we ate out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All forms of public transport service this property with Wynyard station only a 5 minute walk away, buses to all parts of the city pass the hotel and the ferries at Circular Quay again are only a 5 minute walk.

I travelled down to Sydney in April for a conference that spanned 3 days and arrived at the Mantra 2 Bond Street at around 8AM. The staff were friendly, checked myself and a colleague in (different room) without any fuss and stored our bags for later.

I was really impressed with the size of the rooms, for a CBD hotel it was impressive. They come with queen beds, two LCD TVs, full marble bathroom and an open planned living dining area. While I didn't have a need for it, they also have a small but fully functional kitchen as well - which if you were staying a week or more would definitely come in handy.

As for using the services, the bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The shower had heaps of pressure and was hot, nothing worst than either lacking pressure or hot water that isn't hot enough in my opinion. I also used the iron and ironing board each morning, great iron - hot with lots of steam - the ironing board could have been a little bigger but it was adequate.

Checking out was just as painless and we were able to leave our bags checked at reception until the end of the day & pick them up when the conference finished. My colleague and I flew home on a Friday evening at 8PM, so traffic was heavy the catching a cab was going to be difficult but there was a cab rank about 100m up the road on the other side - so that was handy also.

We booked a 2 bedroom unit. It was very spacious, however the rooms were very tired and need refreshing. In the bathroom there was water damage at the bottom of the vanity. In the lounge area there was mould and water damage in 2 areas. In our bedroom the seals were broken on the windows which made it very noisy. The beds in both rooms were very uncomfortable. We found the way the rooms were run down very disappointing as we had stayed there about 3 years ago and had enjoyed it back then. Given the price we were charged and the poor quality of the rooms we would not go back there. They also charged extra as we paid by credit card - didn't matter which card we used.

Our first time to the lovely city of Sydney and this hotel. The location for us was really good for us as we loved the Rocks area. The hotel is only a short walk to the Opera House and ferries.

The staff were very helpful.

We would recommend the hotel of anyone thinking of staying in Sydney.

This hotel is rated 4.5 star but we thought that was a bit much. We stayed in apartment 1413 which looked nice enough but during our 4 night stay we noticed several things which were not up to a 4.5 star hotel standard. There were multiple scuff marks on the walls, there were several oily marks on the curtains in one of the bedrooms, make up the sofa bed and see many months worth of dirt, pens etc, also filthy between the washing machine and the wall, the bottom of the kitchen cupboards were cracked, chipped and appeared to be water damaged, one of the bedrooms wardrobe doors had been taken off and patched up poorly and left open. The couch which turns into a sofa bed looked like something from a rental property. One of the bedroom doors must have been slammed open and the handle had gone right through the wall and never repaired.
When you pay that much money you just expect things to be nice. If we had booked a 3 star we would have thought oh well, that's what you get.
It's a shame because it's a great location.

We stayed here in December at the height of the Christmas period so lots of hustle and bustle but once in your room it was very quiet and relaxing. The room was well equipped, spotlessley clean and in an excellent location for seeing all the sights of Sydney. The pool on the roof is really nice and very welcome after a long day of sightseeing. The staff were very polite and low key so you were left alone to enjoy the stay.

Two bed apartment was okay. Rooms were well laid out and adequately equipped.
Double glazing really poor. None of the windows shut properly. Be warned if travelling with young children.
We had an apartment overlooking Bond Street. This is a really busy street with 24 hr traffic and people noise.
Location is excellent but standard of hotel is pretty poor.
