“Another wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

We stayed at the Radisson Blu for 4 nights in late April 2013. This was our third stay at the Radisson Blu, but the first time we chose a business class room. The room was similar to the other rooms we’ve stayed (quite nice with all the amenities and a luxurious bathroom), but the extra perk of access to the executive lounge made all the difference. The lounge serves a Continental Buffet breakfast, including hot items and excellent coffee, with snack and soft drinks available throughout the day. A good selection of cocktails and nibbles are served in the evening, which makes for a great start to the evening. The staff in the business lounge are very friendly and professional. The lounge itself is on the cosy side, but it wasn’t overbooked and we were always able to get a table, no matter what time we were there. We also enjoyed the hotel lounge on the ground floor and have previously enjoyed some very nice meals in the ground level restaurant, BistroFax.
Amenities within the hotel are very good. The gym has ample machines and free weights. The lap pool is a fair size for the hotel, and are offset by a Jacuzzi-spa and steam room. There are also day-spa services available in this area, but we haven’t tried them.
The location of the hotel can’t be beat. It is about a 5 minute walk to Circular Quay, 10 minutes to the shopping and 15 minutes to Darling Harbour. Wynyard Station and the Airtrain are only about two minutes away. The NSW Art Gallery and access to the Domain are excellent.
We have stayed in 5 different hotels in the Sydney CBD and the clear cut winner for us remains Radisson Blu. It is smaller than the big box hotels and has a slight “boutique” feel to it. Service on all fronts has always been very good and we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Level 10 Business rooms are wonderful!

Great location in the heart of the city, clean rooms and friendly, efficient staff. Because our room wasn't ready we were upgraded to a superior room which was comfortable and adequate but not large with all the amenities required. The pool was small but gym and steam room were good. We would stay again

A lovely hotel right in the heart of the city. The room on the first floor was very comfortable and even on Monday morning was not at all noisy.

Both check in and check out were effortless and all staff were very helpful especially the doormen who were a great source of local information.

There are plenty of good cafes and restaurants around the hotel, we had a great meal at the Chop House, and you are in walking distance of both Sydney and Daling Harbour.

Hotel is in the perfect location, only 10 minutes walk from circular key on one side and shopping malls on the opposite side. Jamie’s Italian restaurant is next door, but the price you pay to stay in this hotel is too high for what you really get, one of the main reasons for our disappointment with the hotel was that we had to call housekeeping every day to come and clean our room and set up our beds which should be part of the regular routine. Bottle of water which we had as complimentary gift in Singapore was $7. Room size is ok but nothing special, keep in mind that you are paying over $380 per room; luckily we had corporate rates which brought the price down to $230. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not included in the price which is $30 + pp, there is nice coffee shop next door with much more reasonable prices.

Room Tip: if you are couple with the child you might find the rooms cramped

Dear SJT2001,

Firstly I would like to apologise that I had not replied to this review earlier.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience of Radisson Blu Hotel Sydney with this feedback we can isolate issues and areas in need of attention. Your feedback is important in helping us to achieve our goal of 100% guest satisfaction.

Whilst I was pleased you found our location to your satisfaction, I was disappointed to learn that you found the hotel wasn't very good value for money. Whilst I can assure you we consistently price ourselves accordingly to market conditions and our competitors we will be going through a redesign of our rooms in 2015 which I feel will elevate our rooms significantly and give our guests real value for money. I do hope that you are able to return in 2015 and let us know of the improvements we have made.

Thanks again for bringing this issue regarding your stay to our attention.

Sincerely,
Peter Tudehope

I recently stayed at the Radisson Blu in order to attend the nearby dawn service in Martin Place for ANZAC Day. We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and were promptly greeted by staff on the door who were enthusiastic and very eager to take our tiny bag whilst we checked in. At check-in we were upgraded to a King room and were very pleased with this offer!!
The location of the hotel is convenient for the city, with major attractions only a short walk away. Staff were faultless and allowed us a late check-out when we rang and requested it.
The pool was lovely and we were fortunate to be the only people in the pool, spa and sauna when visiting.
The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable and the hotel even offers the choice of which pillow you would like to sleep on (if you have a preference).
The hotel is lovely and has all the conveniences of a 5 star hotel in Sydney and the wonderful staff make the experience fantastic! Highly recommended!!!!

Pay the $100 extra which will be offset many times with the savings for breakfast, drinks and an excellent light meal in the evening. Staff is outstanding. We will return for another stay. Great location within walking distance to all of Sydney's CBD sites of interest. Free WiFi

We spent 4 nights here in late March. We had just arrived off a cruise ship and we were given a room right away! This was a welcome plus.
We were able to unpack and start our exploring. What a wonderful city to walk in. We walked everwhere we needed to go. Darling Harbour and Paddys Markets are a good hike but while taking in the sights along the way it did not seem to long. The breakfast was one of the better we have had at a hotel buffet. Only complaint was that they just need to cook the bacon longer. It was very, very under cooked. Noticed a lot was left on peoples plates. What a waste! The room was great, loved the tub plus a shower aspect. Everyone very friendly in reception and front door areas. This hotel is so close to the Quay area it make for easy access to ferries, Botanical Gardens, Opera House, The Rocks, etc, etc. Would highly recomend this hotel if visiting Sydney.
