Quay West Suites Sydney

It's debatable, but my family and I rented an apartment on Floor 15 of Quay West Suites.
The view, which encompassed the Opera House and Harbour bridge was spectacular.
A friend who lives in Sydney was wowwed by the panoramic view that the bay windows our suite had, which looked across the harbour bridge and circular quay.
For a room with a view, we cannot recommend it highly enough!!!!

You can't fault the brilliant location of these apartments - a really short  (couple of minutes) walk to Circular Quay, The Rocks and CBD. Check in and out was faultless. My unit (which didn't have a harbour view) had a small lounge room area and a self catering kitchen which appeared well equipped, although I didn't make use of it. The bathroom definitely needed attention. The shower leaked badly under the glass door all over the floor and the tap in the basin wouldn't turn off (unless you used a lot of force). And sadly the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows very hard, so I didn't sleep too well, which means I probably wouldn't hurry back.

Room 1706 is a two bed suite and has the best view of Sydney bridge and Opera House. It took our breath away every morning and every night. The apartment had everything you could need from a small but fully fitted kitchen, seperate laundry room, lovely lounge and dinning area. The main bedroom had dual aspect windows one looking out to the bridge and the other over to the P&O docking area for their cruise ships. It was magic seeing them coming in past the Opera House under the Bridge and dock early in the morning. The main bedroom had two wardrobes and seating under the main window. It also had a fab en-suite with a large bath 2 sinks and a shower large enough to share! The other bedroom was smaller but still had a very large bed and plenty of wardrobe space. There was also a separate shower and toilet right outside the second bedroom. The apartment had free controllable air conditioning which was very welcome during our 5 night stay and a useful safe and storage cupboard.

We (4 adults) had a great time here and had no complaints whatsoever. We would without doubt stay here again. Everywhere in the apartment and hotel was spotlessly clean. We had beautiful bed linen and beds so comfortable I wanted to ship ours home. The staff were the most helpful we have ever come across, even at 05.30 when we arrived after flying for 24 hours. We had paid for the room for the previous day as we wanted to be able to go straight to our apartment, it was well worth it. We unpacked, showered and watched a cruise ship come in then went out for breakfast. What a start to our Oz adventure.

We didn't eat in the hotel until the last evening when rain forced us to stay in but we were not disappointed. Once more attentive knowledgeable staff and great food with reasonable prices. The swimming pools and jacuzzis are nice and every time I went I was the only one there.

Go on book it, book a harbour view room you won't be disappointed. I think they have been recently renovated. Ours certainly looked like new.

If you had to find something to complain about it is the cost of wifi Internet but if the cost worries you there are lots of cafes and bars that let you surf for free. Don't let it put you off a great place to stay.

My husband and I spent 4 days in Sydney last week and enjoyed our stay at Quay West Suites. As others have said, the suites are very comfortable and ours had two balconies, one off the living room and one off the bedroom, with drop dead views of the harbor. We bought the vouchers for breakfast in the hotel restaurant and were glad we did. The breakfast buffet was good and very convenient obviously. The location is very good, close to The Rocks area ( with many small shops and cafes and restaurants) and also a short walk to a major train station, many bus lines, and the ferries at Central Quay. Be advised however that it is a steep 2 block climb from St. George street up to the hotel. The hotel has limited services but if you want a quiet, convenient location with room to spread out its a great choice. The suite even had it's own laundry facilities which we appreciated as Sydney was our first stop on a 2-week trip to Australia. I would suggest to the management that they improve lighting in the bathroom and figure a way to seal the shower door so one doesn't end up with a very wet floor after every shower.

Room Tip: Ask for a harbour view suite

Quay West Suite is really good place to stay in Sydney for business and even for family vacation trip. I stayed in room 2204 which has the best view to the Harbour Bridge & Opera House .... close to the train stations and shopping area. Front Desk Officers and Concierge Officers has been very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this Suites to all my colleges who want to visit Sydney.. :)

We had organised to see a show at the state theatre in Sydney and decided to make a whole weekend of it and stay overnight somewhere near the harbour. We decided on staying at the Quay west suites on the recommendation of our children. What a great experience this turned out to be. The views from our balcony on the twenty second floor was breathtaking, it encompassed the whole of the harbour from the heads to Cockatoo island. And to top the view off, a cruise ship arrived overnight and birthed at the passenger terminal right below us. The ship was an awesome
View from above!
The hotel staff were courteous and friendly, valet parking, quick efficient check in and out, everything one could want to add to a pleasurable experience.
Well done. We will be sure to come again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view and a balcony. It may cost more but it is certainly worth the money.
