“Best Stay Ever!”
Reviewed August 28, 2011

My girlfriend and I stayed at Quay West over the weekend as a get away from the everyday grind. The location was perfect, close to most attractions (circular quay, opera house etc) but located far enough away from the busy city centre so as not to be disturbed by drunks wondering the streets.
The staff were amazing from the first to last moment. All were smiling and willing to assist you with anything you required. No request was too big.
The room was spacious, clean and well lit, with one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in! I had booked a city view suite, but received a complimentary upgrade to a room with a slight harbour view. If your not lucky enough to have a room with a view, then you can always go to the recreation desk and sit on the balcony with an unobstructed view of the harbour bridge and opera house that was simply BREATHTAKING!!
All in all, I could not fault the property, staff or facilities and will definately be back the next time in Sydney.

Spectacular views of sydney harbour, the bridge and opera house greet you, as soon as you walk into your 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. Modern decor, spacious bedrooms and living area, fully equiped kitchen and laundry all added up to great convenience. If you dont want to cook, the room service menu is comprehensive and we found the food delicious. It was wonderful to pour a glass of red and watch the busy harbour turn on its light show at night. Met another couple who appreciated the pool and gym on site and its located a short walk to the Rocks, Circular Quay Ferries and George Street shopping. This is the 2nd time staying and will be back again.

Room Tip: Big comfortable beds, bathtub and shower in main ensuite, shower in main bathroom.

Our family of 4 stayed in a two bed 2 ba suite that was close to1200sf. Lots of space, washer, dryer, full kitchen. In the rocks section with a number of good restaurants nearby. Hotel has a small but well stocked bar and good restaurant. Breakfast was excellent but expensive (nominally $40 but $20 if purchased when you register). However the view of the harbor is so compelling you may not want to leave the room.

Quay West is well priced, comfortable, and the suites are well set up for those who wish to be self contained. About a 15 minute walk to the fabulous new Westfield shopping centre. Definitely make the effort to go the level 23 and have a look at the spectacular city views, with the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Stunning!

So much to enjoy at the Quay West Suites! We stayed in a 2 bedroom Harbor View room on the 9th floor. We were told by the front desk that all Harbor View Suites have the same view.

Pros: The view! Was wonderful to just look at the ferries coming and going in the harbor, with the bridge and opera house too, of course; the rooms were very spacious, clean, and very nicely furnished; beds had soft linens and were comfortable; master bath was spacious and the other bathroom was adequate; the location of the hotel was wonderful, very close to the Circular Quay and the Rocks and George St. shopping; friendly front desk staff; beautiful indoor pool and spa with gorgeous views as well; cleaning everyday and fresh plentiful towels; fully equipped kitchen so cooking meals is possible.

Cons: Very expensive--you are definitely paying for the view and location; is located up a hill, so if carrying own luggage (not taking a cab) is quite a haul from the Circular Quay Station. Recommend using Wynyard if have suitcases. Concierges were *completely* useless--did not have information on ferry schedules and seemed entirely uninterested in doing basic searches (on computer sitting right on the desk in front of them!) for information on zoo opening times, restaurant options, etc. This attitude is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.

Friendliest staff I have met anywhere and very helpful. Breakfast was an absolute delight - variety plus and changed daily. Loud party next door but when walked into the bedroom, couldnt hear a thing. Nicely appointed apartment. Overall, this is a great place to stay. Location superb, short stroll to The Rocks, and circular quay. Close to station, Harbour bridge walkway. Had a City view apartment, next time will go for a sea view with balcony. Not often impressed - this establishment did. The staff were superb, thank you - your excellent service was appreciated. Dianne - Magazine Manager NZ

Outstanding beautiful view one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Breakfast was fantastic but the thing that stood out the most was the Friendliness of the staff, they were absolutely superb. Hard to fault the facility, it would be nitpicking to do so. :) Well done. Look forward to my next visit.
