Seasons Harbour Plaza
Ranked #133 of 186 Hotels in Sydney
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Having booked several room for myself and work colleagues for a seven day stay in Sydney, the experience at Seasons Harbour Plaza was mixed. My room which was supposed to be a two bedroom unit was in fact two individual rooms that were accessed through a single main door which opened up two individual one bedroom units, fully equiped with there own kitchen, lounge and full bathroom. Both these rooms were perfectly adequate and comfortable but lacked a little polish that would have made the stay better and there were signs that the rooms were in need of a little maintenance. Three other members of my travelling group had a more disappointing stay. Being given the keys to one of the "Penthouse" suites on level 18, they were met with a dirty and tastelessly appointed room with filthy walls, rust and mould in the bathrooms. After several requests for a thorough clean and a visit from the duty Manager, many of these issues were unable to be resolved to the satisfaction of the guests. I only hope that the touted change of Management and suggestions of a renovation as advertised in the lifts are acted upon as a matter of urgency! The location is brilliant in proximity to Darling Harbour and all it has to offer and I am sure that once said renovations are complete this Hotel has the ability to be much much better. I will consider this venue again for future business trips to Sydney but only subject to a major overhall.

Room Tip: avoid the Penthouse suites at all costs until refurbishment is complete

The apartment was Ok, comfortable though needs a paint job and a cleanup. The location is on a very noisy intersection, though most of sydney CBD is noisy, so traffic noise is a problem.
The towels were awful, paper thin. A tv in the bedroom would be good so you can laze in bed and watch the news.
Staff friendly and helpful.
As mentioned elsewhere the corridor carpet areas around the lifts were filthy.
Overall Ok, but not great.

We stayed for 5 nights in a Premier 1 bedroom apartment which was spacious and well set up for 2 people.
The apartment was clean and daily housekeeping was good and attentive and there was no problem getting extra towels dishwashing liquid etc.

Reception staff friendly and helpful.

The reception area welcoming but the general passageways in need of re painting and re carpeting and upgrading of TVs( I understand this is happening ) and room in need of refreshing
and these need to be done ASAP if the company wants to be on level as other 4 *
accommodation available that we have viewed since our visit.

The location is fantastic with many cafes supermarket and access to George St a 5 minute walk

Overall would we stay here again yes .

A great location for visiting attractions, but grim otherwise. Everything in the rooms was worn and tattered; I felt depressed on entering the room. You could hear the traffic below and communal areas were poorly airconditioned.
Fortunately I was with children who aren't critical, anyone else and I would be embarrassed.

Stayed here for four days while working in Sydney. The apartment was comfortable, kitchen fairly well equipped (strangely no salt & pepper), the fittings and furniture a little tired but nothing that would prevent me staying there again. The staff were very helpful and quickly responded to any requests or issues we had.

Room Tip: Higher is better

I really find it difficult to say how bad this place was. We booked for two nights but left after one. Indeed , if we had not arrived so late on the first day we would have left straight away and lost the nights charge.

The rooms were dank and dirty. Carpets and walls stained, plumbing noisy and running all night. The noise from the roads outside was terrible and it was like being on a formula one track. The tragic thing is that I always check on trip advisor before booking a hotel but failed to do so this time. If I had done so we would have avoided it.

Room Tip: Don't choose any room give the place a total miss

This hotel has definitely seen better days. The lobby is fine, everything else looks like it hasn't been maintained in years. Every piece of furniture in my room was stained, even the lamps! Walls and carpet marked, chipping paint etc. Traffic was very noticeable even late at night. On the upside rooms are spacious and it's handy to Darling Harbour. There is no way this is a four star property - it would be struggling to get three. I've stayed at nicer backpackers for half the price - avoid.
