Although this hotel is becoming a little tired the location is excellent. Lots of restaurants nearby, and you can easily walk to the city centre and the rocks. The beds are fabulously comfortable and I found the service to be pleasant. Breakfast is ordinary and overpriced but you have lots of cheap options right outside so it's not a problem. All in all I think its good value and would stay again.

I recently stayed at the property to attend a conference at the nearby Sydney Convention Center. The location is excellent with an abundance of restaurants and shopping nearby. The room was quite large and comfortable. Depending on your room, the harbour view is quite nice! I do not recommend eating breakfast ($31AUS), as there are other restaurants within walking distance that are more economical. There is a charge for WiFi as well as a data limit. I have never heard of a data limit on a hotel WiFi. The hotel needs to get with the times and offer complimentary WiFi for all guests.

Excellent Hotel, really enjoyed staying there. Great spot very central to everything.Went cruising on the Harbour to Circular Quay. We were treated to a free fireworks display from our window on Saturday night. Really enjoyed our weekend.

Quite a large hotel, stayed on the 9th floor, had a decent view of everything but the harbour.

What really lets this place down is the lack of friendly welcoming atmosphere from the staff, and the prices.

$45 per day for parking? I understand that the Harbourside car park is roughly on par with this. Considering guests are already paying a decent sum for accomodation, perhaps this cost could be lowered.

Also, don't forget your usb: $30 for a 1gb stick! that's at least a 1000% mark up, considering your average 1gb usb doesn't even come in 1gb anymore as it's too small...

The room itself is nothing extravagant, and there was a large red wine stain on the floor between the two beds. (Room 904, check it out staff...)

Cherry on top was having to cross the street to go to the IGA in the morning after a night out, because the bar at reception only does post mix drinks, and there are no vending machines anywhere.

There are many reasons why my trip was memorable.

Novotel Darling Harbour is not one of them.

Room Tip: Stay at the Mantra, Parramatta for less then what you'd pay here. 4.5 star accomodation and the...

Stayed one night on a work trip. Hotel room was pretty comfortable and spacious, restaurant was sufficient and I got a good dinner. Breakfast was the usual uninspiring fare, but the restaurant is nice and bright and airy. Don't understand why places don't seat guests at breakfast any more, its a small but personal touch.

Overall our stay here served its purpose, we needed somewhere close to Pyrmont and needed it at short notice, our room was on a high floor and had two queen beds and as a novelty (we weren't honeymooning or anything) we each slept in one of the beds. They were ok comfort wise, had a mattress topper but no where near as good as I have experienced before. The other bed was apparently similar. It was kind of funny each taking a bed but with animals and kids at home fun to take advantage while away. The staff were only OK really, nothing extra special. The room again was OK, in its day I expect it was a very nice hotel, now its showing its age in parts although I have no real complaints for the money paid there are probably better value options, but perhaps not where we needed to be. I guess having no expectation helps.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review.

Your comments imply that your stay with us was fine, and there were no problems that arose, however, nothing "WOW'd" you and went above and beyond your expectations.

Our service focus is all about 'people' and how each and every one of us is different and has different expectations. Our staff are committed to exceeding each individuals expectations and unfortunately, on this occasion, we let ourselves down.

We hope to see you at the hotel in the future so we can provide the service in which we pride ourselves and in which one would expect from a Novotel.

Kind Regards,
The Management Team at Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour
