“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2009

I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment that was new and modern and very clean.
The features were great, you had your own climate control for AC and heating, a fully contained kitchen, a nice big bath, laundry, TV in house movies, a stereo and balcony which was a bonus for smokers.
The location was nice and quiet by day and on the weekend came alive especially at night with nightclubs, lounge’s, cafes and restaurants were busy. It was very close to Sydney harbour cruise boats and water taxi's. There are handy little mini-marts and bottle shops close by. It’s a great area for doing the tourist thing!!!
We got the monorail into the city, which is 3-minute walk away.
I would recommend this place to stay it was enjoyable.

Just one thing *The staff could have been nicer and friendlier at times.

I went to a three day conference at Darling Harbour and this was a great place to stay. Good alternative to a hotel room, with full size fridge and well equipped kitchen. bathroom separate from bedroom.

I only found this on a last minute web site. We used the internet cafe on George Street and booked this the same day we arrived. The price was very cheap, but I think it was because it was a last minute deal. This is not a hotel, it is an apartment complex but it is 50 meters from the harbor and it fantastic. The best thing is it had a kitchen and clothes machine to wash the clothes. This made the trip a lot cheaper and a lot easier.

I stayed in a grand studio it was clean, modern and quiet. Has a good sized kitchen with full size fridge and full size bath. There are sliding doors around the bed so you can screen it off to create a seperate bedroom and lounge which was fab as I used the lounge for a last minute business meeting and it was much more presentable with the bed screeded off.
Great location on the city side of Darling harbour so you can stroll over to the city in 2 mins! The balcony was a great extra even though noisy with the doors open it was worth it.
Staff were excellent, they found me a phone charger, gave me fab bar reccomendation (very close to the hotel, The Loft) and provided me with CDs and ice late at night.

I stayed in a studio room, admittedly their lowest rate and so did not have view over the water of course but found the room to be very small. I would have checked out had I been there more than one night. It does not represent value for money. The location is great for being in the centre of the city but King St wharf was very quiet the night I stayed with almost no.one in any of the restaurants but it was very beautiful to walk in the whole area. Definitely clean, functional but wouldn't return and staff not particularly helpful or friendly unless pushed. No restaurant, but breakfast is available in connecting cafe where staff are very sloppy and not sufficient to cater for hotel guests and regular office workers.

We were fortunate to have a room on the side of the hotel with a great view and balcony of Darling Harbour. Our room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The hotel has nice amenities in the fitness room and pool. It is not directly on the Harbour, but a very short walk across the street to great restaurants and cafes.

It would pay to ask if for a corner room or room with harbour view if availible. I would also recommend using the wine shop on the street level in the same block or duty free coming in through the airport as the room came with a small refrigerator to save using the mini-bar. I also liked the micro-brewery on Darling Harbour just down from the hotel. Finally a trip to the Syndey fish market for some of the freshest seafood is great walk or ride the monorail.

this was one of 4 places we stayed at in sydney during a 1 month trip jan09. similar and nearly as nice as the quay grand. location is awesome (like quay grand),but here for great access to the mostly kid friendly area around darling harbor. room was big, well appointed, with a huge balcony (room 34, harbor side). they had the most impressive double, double pane sliding doors for sound proofing. pool area was ok. gym facilities good. staff was amazingly attentive. great value, the best of our trip.
